Burquist Scores Some Value

Level 6 : 400/800, 800 ante

On a heads-up completed board of 210J97, there was around 7,000 in the middle when Jeff Burquist checked over to his opponent, who bet 2,000. Burquist then put in the check-raise to 7,000 and his opponent, an apparent non-believer, quickly called.

Burquist then tabled K8 for a missed flush draw but a back door straight to the jack. His opponent shook his head and threw his cards into the muck while the pit was pushed toward Burquist.

Avery Holds Against Kitagawa

Level 6 : 400/800, 800 ante

After a raise from Jason Avery, Kyle Kitagawa moved all in for his last 10,400, which Avery called to put him at risk.

Kyle Kitagawa: AQ
Jason Avery: 1010

Avery was ahead going into this flip with pocket tens, and the runout of K7995 was good for him to scoop the pot, which eliminated Kitagawa, who vowed to return.

Nurding Gets Paid

Level 5 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

On a flop of AA2, Alex Nurding bet 1,500 but was then raised to 3,200 by Christopher Smith. The rest of the players got out of the way and Nurding called to see the 4 on the turn.

Nurding then checked to Smith, who continued for 2,200, but then it was Nurding's turn to raise and he made it 10,000 to go.

After a few seconds, Smith tossed in the call and the two went to the river 2, which double-paired the board.

Nurding then bet 25,000 and Smith went deep into the tank. After almost two minutes, he made the call, but was shown A10 by Nurding for a full house and he quickly mucked. This win brings Nurding up to 136,000 and is one of the biggest stacks so far.

Azam Has an Ace

Level 4 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante

On a heads-up completed board of 55A44, there was close to 11,000 in the middle when Allen Moheimani bet 4,000 and the action was on his opponent, Rafi Azam.

Azam thought about it only for a few seconds before he tossed in a chip to call.

"I'm just playing the board," Moheimani admitted as he turned over 68, but that was no good once Azam tabled A10 for aces and fives to take down the substantial pot.

Nordin Knocks out Kerstetter with Quads

Level 4 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante

On a heads-up flop of 672, Jamie Kerstetter check-called a bet of 2,000 from Brian Nordin, and then checked once more when the 4 hit the turn.

Nordin then continued for 4,200 and Kerstetter check-raised all in, which Nordin quickly called to put her at risk.

Kerstetter tabled A5 for just a gutshot while Nordin flipped over 44 for a turned set of fours. Only a three would save Kerstetter on the river, but instead, it was the 4, which improved Nordin to quads and Kerstetter hit the rail.
