Shields Finds the Perfect River on Yang

Level 4 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante

Yishu Yang bet 5,000 from middle position on a flop of JQ5 and Tyler Shields called in the small blind.

Yang then bet 12,500 on the K turn, and Shields again called. The river was the 10 and Shields moved all in for 33,800.

"Where did you find that river, sir?" Yang wondered as she tanked for more than a minute before flinging JJ into the muck. Shields showed her AA for a rivered straight as he took the pot.

Venkatesan Fills Up on Sommers

Kade Venkatesan bet 3,000 from the big blind on a flop of 766 and Lee Sommers raised to 11,500 in the hijack. Venkatesan called and the flop came the A.

Both players checked to see the 5 river, where Venkatesan bet 15,000. Sommers took a minute before calling, and Venkatesan showed A6 for a full house. Sommers flashed the A as he mucked.

A player in middle position had a raise of 5,500 in front of him before Yishu Yang moved all in for 22,000 on the button. The small blind then reshoved, and the middle-position player folded, saying he had two nines.

Yang was racing for her tournament life as the flop came 1043. The turn came the 7 to give her a set, but her opponent picked up a flush draw. The river was the 2 and Yang survived to double up.

"The turn was the perfect card," another tablemate said after the hand.

Tindle Flops the Joint For a Knockout

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

A player in the small blind led out for 2,000 on a flop of 735 and Steve Tindle called in middle position.

The turn was the A and the small blind moved all in for 10,000. Tindle snap-called and turned over 64 for a flopped straight. His opponent could only show A2 for a pair of aces, and the A river wasn't enough as Tindle sent his opponent to the rail.

Twyman Takes One Out

A player under the gun moved all in for 6,100 and Kai Nicholls called in the cutoff. John Twyman then reraised to 16,000 on the button, and Nicholls called.

The flop came 543 and Twyman bet another 20,000. Nicholls quickly folded, leaving Twyman and the at-risk player heads-up.

Both players showed a pair, but Twyman was ahead with his eights and poised for the knockout. The board ran out 9Q and the under-the-gun player was eliminated.

Four players went to a flop of 85J where Kai Nicholls bet 1,500 from under the gun. Only Jose Cayetano in middle position and a player on the button called.

Nicholls bet another 2,500 on the 10 turn, but this time Cayetano raised to 7,500. The button quickly folded, while Nicholls also gave up his hand.
