"Straddle" Backfires on McEwen

Preston McEwen min-raised to 1,600 from under the gun before seeing his cards. A player in the small blind three-bet to 4,100, John Cressend called in the big blind and McEwen called.
The flop came 6♠Q♣8♣. The player in the small blind bet 7,500, Cressend shoved covering both players, McEwen called with his remaining stack of roughly 20,000 and the small blind folded.

McEwen had a double-gutshot but Cressend had a better made hand with ace-high and the nut-flush draw. The rest of the board ran out 4♥6♣ giving Cressend the nut-fluish to eliminate McEwen, who reentered shortly after.
