Day 1bc Completed
The final two starting flights of the RGPS Grand Prix New Orleans $800 Main Event have concluded here at Caesars New Orleans. The Main Event drew a total field of 307 entries across three starting flights, surpassing the $200,000 guarantee to create a $214,900 prize pool.
Leading the field going into Day 2 is Yousef Saleh, who finished Day 1c with 690,000. Saleh was leading the field on the Day 1c money bubble and extended the gap between himself and the rest of the field in a dramatic final hand of the night. On the stone bubble, Saleh flopped quad tens and Mihail Karasoulis rivered quad deuces, resulting in Karasoulis bubbling in brutal fashion.
Meanwhile, Frank Alpandinar bagged the day Day 1b chip lead after finishing the night with 436,000. Alpandinar also soared to the top of the Day 1b counts at the bubble, winning a pivotal flip with ace-king against Brian Borne's pocket sevens.

Yousef Saleh opened to 12,000 from the cutoff at the 6,000 big blind level and received calls from a player on the button and Mihail Karasoulis in the big blind.
the flop came 10♦10♣10♠ and Karasoulis checked. Saleh bet 10,000, the button folded and Karasoulis called.
Both players checked the 2♣ turn leading to the 2♦ river. Karasoulis checked with around 100,000 behind and Saleh shoved with a covering stack. Karasoulis called.
Karasoulis showed 2♥2♠ for quad deuces but Saleh had him beat with J♦10♥ for quad tens to bring an end to the night and send Karasoulis out on the stone bubble in sickening fashion.
