Kenneth Hock limped in early position, and Adam Williams raised to 6,000 in the hijack. Action folded back around to Hock, who tossed in the call.
Hock checked the 5♥5♦2♣ flop, and Williams announced a bet of 9,000. Hock called and checked once more on the Q♥ turn. Williams took a moment before sliding in a bet big enough to force his opponent all in. That produced a quick call from Hock, and the hands were turned up.
Kenneth Hock: 5♠3♠
Adam Williams: A♠K♣
The K♥ river completed the board, as Hock's trip fives earned a full double-up through Williams.
Michael Nolan checked the 8♣10♦K♥A♥ turn from the big blind, making the call after Anthony Potis bet 3,000 in early position.
Another check from Nolan followed the 9♠ river, and Potis sized up to 10,500. After taking some time, Nolan opted to toss in the call.
Potis showed 10♣9♥ for two pair on the river, earning another pot as Nolan mucked his hand.
Chadd Beatty opened from under the gun to 4,000, and Xinshuai Dong made the call in the small blind. After asking to Beatty's remaining stack, Anthony Potis announced a raise to 11,500.
Beatty did not take long to fold, while Dong followed by sliding his cards into the muck. That allowed Potis to take the chips without seeing a flop.
Heads-up action to the K♦7♠10♣K♣ turn saw Xinshuai Dong checked from the big blind. Alexandra Loveless slid out a bet of 9,000 from the hijack, and Dong took a moment before making the call.
Dong checked again on the K♥ river, with Loveless checking back. Dong tabled 7♣5♣ for a full house, good enough to claim the pot as Loveless mucked her cards.
The tournament director has announced that 72 entries were recorded on Day 1b.
Action will continue until just nine players are left, before bagging for Day 2 on Sunday.

With Nicholas Rigby already all in from early position, Akash Patel and Mario Rufini saw the 3♠6♣3♣ flop.
Rufini checked and called from the small blind after Patel announced all in from the cutoff.
Nicholas Rigby: A♣4♦
Mario Rufini: A♦K♠
Akash Patel: J♣J♥
Patel's pocket pair held through the 6♦ turn and 8♦ river, earning the pot while sending Rigby and Rufini to the rail.
Cole Bankus was all in from middle position, at risk against Dominic Lake sitting under the gun.
Cole Bankus: J♣J♦
Dominic Lake: A♦Q♠
The classic flip went the way of Bankus, as Lake could not improve on the 4♠7♣2♥K♣9♣ runout to double up his opponent.
