Stapleton Is Playing Bad; Wins With a Chop

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante
Joe Stapleton
Joe Stapleton

In three-way action to the 552 flop, the action checked to akira3 and he bet 2,100 to earn one call while Joe Stapleton folded and gave the following remark.

"I got a quote for your reporting. I couldn't be playing worse and I am the worst player at the table by far," he said and even suggested that it might cause an international incident if things were to get worse.

On the 4 turn, akira3 called a bet of 2,000 and then faced another bet of 6,500 on the 8 river. He opted for a raise to 25,000 and forced out his opponent.

Stapleton then four-bet jammed for 20,000 and was called by AK to show his AK. There were no shenanigans on the 9874Q runout and Stapleton chopped the pot.

"I played that one well," he joked.

The First Eliminations Are Coming In

Level 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

It took more than a level but the first players are eventually running out of chips. One of those benefitting from it was SurarinPoker, who had a short stack at risk preflop and then isolated on the 922 flop. He tabled the JJ and had little to fear versus 86, locking up the knockout with the 2 turn and 5 river.
