Miller Leads The Final 11 of Day 1A

Level 14 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Ed Miller
Ed Miller

The first flight of the RGPS Main Event has come and gone. 92 entrants came out to play this $600 Main Event with the hope of snagging a piece of the $150,000 guaranteed prize pool, with only 11 players seeing their dreams realized.

Leading the way is tournament regular Ed Miller(683,000), who sits with over two times the stack of his nearest competitor. Miller has made himself a staple of poker tournaments out West over the past 15 years, with a career best score coming in 2014 with a runner up finish in the HPT for $109,424. With his massive stack today, he looks to utilize on Day 2 his wealth of poker knowledge.

Many other regulars found their way into Day 2, such as WSOP bracelet winner Dann Turner and Josh Prager. They will be among those on Day 2 looking to snag their first ever RGPS ring.

Fortune did not smile upon all this morning. Players like Jeffrey Day, Adam Saven, and three of our new ring winners this week Denis Lee, Joseph Bergh, and Rudy Wusstig, all were eliminated before the day ended. They will have ample opportunity in tonight’s flight to bag and take a stack into Day 2.

Play ended with 18:00 left in Level 15 with blinds at 4,000/8,000 with an 8,000 big blind ante. This will be the time they return to on Day 2 unless one of the later flights ends earlier.

Coverage will now go on a break, check back in to PokerNews later tonight to see who ends up bagging in the later flight.
