RunGood Poker Series Heads To Japan For First Overseas Tournament

After twelve years of bringing high-quality, mid-stakes poker to the United States, the RunGood Poker Series is heading overseas to Japan!

The RGPS is sponsoring a multi-day event at the Japan Open Poker Tour Grand Final festival in Tokyo. The winner of the RGPS Colossus will win an RGPS ring, while the whole field will have a shot at taking home some RunGood merch.

The JOPT Grand Final festival is on from April 25 to May 6 at Belle Salle Takadanobaba in the Shinjuku ward of Tokyo. The Colossus will take up three days of that, running from April 27 to April 29.

John Roberts raised to 8,500 from under the gun, which was called by Eric Buchheit in the hijack, and a player in the cutoff. Then Josh Brower on the button raised all in for his stack of 9,500. He was called by the big blind Jason Aken, Roberts, Buchheit, and the cutoff.

The flop came 5♥2♠8♠ and Aken moved all in for his last 11,000, which Roberts called, but Buchheit and the cutoff folded, as the three remaining players turned the cards on their back.

Brower was in front with is pocket queens, and once the board ran out J♠ on the turn and K♥ on the river, Brower secured the rarely seen quintuple up.

Aken managed to stay in the tournament after taking the side pot, was but was eliminated shortly after.

Action folded to William Henricks in middle position who raised to 7,000, which was called by a player in the cutoff, and the small blind Yang Xu. The big blind then three-bet all in for her stack of 47,500, which got Henricks and the cutoff the quickly fold. Xu then thought over his decision for about a minute, before making the call to put the big blind at risk.

Xu had the bigger pocket pair, and once the board ran out J♣J♥Q♣8♠9♦ he improved to a full house, nines full of jacks to take the pot and eliminate his opponent.

The player in the big blind checked to Brandon Butler in the hijack, who bet out 7,500. The big blind then raised to 15,000, and Butler thought over decision for nearly a minute, and moved all in for his stack of 27,000, and the big blind quickly called for slightly less.

Munoz's Set of Kings a Knocks Out a Player

A player opened the action with a raise to 6,000, and when it folded to Rosmel Munoz, he three-bet to 20,000. It folded back to the original raiser, who four-bet all in for his stack of roughly 30,000, which Munoz quickly called to put him at risk.
