Epstein Eliminated
Level 5
: Blinds 400/800, 800 ante
There were already over 7,000 in the middle on the flop of A♠8♥9♥. Xian Tang had checked from the big blind position to Jonathan Epstein in the next seat over.
Epstein chose to bet 3,100 before he faced a check-raise all-in from Tang. Epstein pondered for a moment before he made the call to be at risk for his tournament life.
Jonathan Epstein: A♦Q♣
Xian Tang: K♥10♥
Epstein made the correct call as he was ahead of the flush draw of Tang, but with two cards to go, it was still anyone's pot.
The 9♠ was a safe turn for Epstein, but the river stung as it came 3♥ to upgrade Tang to a flush and the best hand to eliminate Epstein.
