The remaining 14 players have bagged their chips for Day 2. Stay tuned for a recap of Day 1ab.
The hand began with a raise by Xiong Thao to 20,000 from early position before Derek Stark chose to jam for 101,000 from middle position. Anubhav Jolly woke up with a hand in the next seat over and went all-in to put Stark at risk.
Derek Stark: A♠Q♣
Anubhav Jolly: K♦K♠
Stark needed help, but it never came on the runout of [1h5hJcQh8c] to be elminated in 15th place just one shy of bagging for Day 2.

Allison De Souza and Ryan Awwad got the chips in preflop with De Souza at risk.
Allison De Souza: Q♥10♥
Ryan Awwad: A♣5♥
Both players caught a piece of the flop, but Awwad caught the bigger piece as it came Q♣8♥A♥ to give both players a pair.
The K♣ turn improved De Souza to a straight draw, but the A♠ river was not what De Souza hoped for as Awwad scooped the pot.

Albert Tapia raised from the hijack to 17,000. Matthew Gouge responded with a call on the button.
Both players checked the K♣9♦4♥ flop to bring on the K♠ turn.
Tapia bet 30,000 and was called by Gouge.
The 5♠ river led to a check from Tapia before Gouge bet 36,000. Tapia quickly folded to award Gouge the pot.

Xiong Thao jammed for 75,000 from middle position and was called by Randy Gil in the big blind to put Thao at risk for his tournament.
Xiong Thao: A♥Q♣
Randy Gil: 7♣7♥
Thao needed to hit one of his overcards to survive, but the flop did not bring any solace as it came 4♠10♥4♦.
Thao improved his equity on the K♣ turn to improve to a straight draw. Gil was poised to secure the knockout, but the A♦ river ruined that plan as Thao earned the double.

Victor Paredes went all-in from middle position for his final 95,000 and was called by Dan Stavila in the small blind to put Paredes at risk.
Victor Paredes: 8♣8♥
Dan Stavila: Q♥Q♠
Paredes needed a lot of help as he was behind against the better pocket pair of Stavila.
The flop did not bring any relief as it came 3♣2♦K♠ to keep Stavila in the lead.
The 3♦ turn did not change anything, and the A♠ river was the final card Paredes would see in Day 1b.
