Players are back in their seats for Day 1b. Blinds are at 3,000/5,000 with 24 remaining in the flight. A total of 17 players will cash with 14 advancing to Day 2.
Players in flight Day 1b are on a 15-minute break. Tournament officials will use this break to remove the 500 chips from play. The tournament will resume at the 3,000/5,000 level.
Level 12: 2,000/4,0000
Anubhav Jolly raised to 8,000 from the cutoff. The table folded to the big blind of Daniel Chang, who opted to go all-in and was called by Jolly to put Chang at risk.
Daniel Chang: K♥Q♣
Anubhav Jolly: A♦2♦
Jolly held the slight lead and enjoyed the benefit of flopping best as the flop fanned out 8♦7♦10♣ to give Jolly a flush draw.
The Q♠ was just the card Chang hoped for as it vaulted him into the lead with one card to go, but the river was cruel to Chang as it came the 6♦ to upgrade Jolly to a flush and eliminate Chang from Day 1b.
The hand began when Joshua Prager raised to 8,000 from early position. Cheryl Svenson opted to raise to 17,000 from the cutoff, and was called in the next seta over by Mohit Vasudev on the button. Lian Liu announced all-in from the small blind, which led to a fold from Prager. Svenson went all in for 84,000 to put herself at risk. Vasudev folded, showing pocket queens as he let go of his hand.
Cheryl Svenson: A♥A♦
Lian Liu: A♠K♣
Svenson had Liu in rough shape as they went into the runout, and the board did not compromise Svenson's position as it came 5♣10♣4♥6♥3♥ to award Svenson the double.
