William Sandberg
William Sandberg

Sandberg is also searching for his first RGPS ring as his highest finish in a Run Good event came nearly a week ago when he finished in sixth place in the $300 Deep Freeze event. Sandberg will have an opportunity to not only improve on that finish, but also surpass his registered career live earnings with a top four finish in this event.

Brian Winter

RGPS 2023-2024 Player of the Year Brian Winter is still in the hunt as he managed to bag. The nine-time title winner bagged a total of 362,000 and will look to add RGPS title number 10 to his resume as he enters Day 2.

Play will resume at 12 p.m. local time at the Thunder Valley Casino and Resort. The event is scheduled to play down to a winner as a new Hendon Mob Mid-Major Champion will be crowned. Stay tuned here at PokerNews for updates on Day 2 action.

Murphy Stays Alive Against Pon

Level 16 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Gregory Pon raised from early position before Shelley Murphy opted to jam 133,000 from the button. Pon quickly called to put Murphy at risk.

Shelley Murphy: 99All in
Gregory Pon: QQ

Murphy was in deep trouble against the better pair of Pon, but the flop was the miracle Murphy was looking for as it came 97J to reverse Murphy's fortune.

The K turn did not alter anything, and the 7 river upgraded Murphy to a full house to secure the double.

Winter Busts Benjamin on the Bubble

Level 15 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Brian Winter
Brian Winter

The table folded around to Brian Winter in the small blind, who elected to shove into the big blind of George Benjamin, who called for approximately 50,000 to be at risk for his tournament with the bubble at risk of popping.

George Benjamin: JJAll in
Brian Winter: K5

Benjamin had a sizeable lead as they went into the flop, but Winter pulled ahead when the flop fanned out 97K.

The 3 kept Benjamin out in the cold. The A river changed nothing as Benjamin was eliminated on the bubble.
