Another batch of hopefuls entered Day 1cd of the $600 Hendon Mob Mid-Major Championship during the Run Good Poker Series Final Orbit (RGPS) hosted at Thunder Valley Casino and Resort. A total of 409 entrants from Day 1c and 1d combined took their shot at securing a spot on Day 2, but only 28 players from Day 1c and 19 players from Day 1d were permitted to return for Day 2, creating a total of 47 players that bagged after the two flights. This means that a total of 80 players have now booked their spot on Day 2 after four flights.

Arthur Tanimoto finished at the top of the heap with a stack of 846,000 to become the chip leader of not just Day 1c, but eventually led all players that have bagged for Day 2 thus far. Tanimoto is still searching for his first RGPS ring after he came close to earning a top finish earlier this year in March when he finished in third place in the RGPS Reno Main Event, but is in a good position to improve on that here at Thunder Valley Resort and Casino.

Day 1d chip leader Ryan Pham bagged a total of 824,000 to finish with the second-most of anyone on Day 1cd. Pham is chasing his first RGPS title, as well as the Hendon Mob trophy and first-place prize.

Daniel Ferketa
Daniel Ferketa

Daniel Ferketa finished Day 1cd with the second most chips, bagging 728,000. Ferketa has not registered any cashes at RGPS and will join the many players searching for their first RGPS title.

Matthew Kramer bagged a total of 710,000 to secure the third most of anyone from Day 1cd. Kramer had three top 10 finishes at Thunder Valley Casino and Resort in December of last year, but was unable to get higher than seventh place in any of those three top finishes. Kramer can build on that success with an opportunity at a deep run in the Hendon Mob Mid-Major Championship.

Jeff Platt
Jeff Platt

Two voices of poker made an appearance on Day 1cd. Jeff Platt secured a bag for Day 2 during the first flight of the day. Platt chipped up early before he hovered for a long while. Platt then managed to double near the end of the flight to finish the day with 282,000, as he looks towards Day 2.

James Hartigan
James Hartigan

James Hartigan also took his shot at securing a bag for Day 2 when he entered Day 1d. Hartigan ran deep into the flight, but was silenced when he lost a significant portion of his stack after getting it in with the best of it while holding the better ace preflop. He was seen leaving shortly after as he exited the tournament.
