Action was heads up to the K♣9♣J♠7♥3♠ river, where Alexandra Loveless fired a bet of 10,000 from the big blind. Elgin Young took some time in the cutoff, studying his opponent before reaching a decision.
"Never a bluff," claimed Young as he slid his cards into the muck. Loveless nodded as the pot was sent her way.
Bryan Hicks raised to 2,100 in the cutoff, with Mauricio Miranda making the call in the small blind. Brian Oellig defended his big blind, and the dealer fanned out the K♦K♥7♦ flop.
All three players checked, and Miranda led out for 3,000 on the 10♥ turn. Oellig raised to 7,000, producing a quick fold from Hicks. Miranda followed with a fold, and Oellig raked in the pot.
Back in March, the Dallas stop of the RunGood Poker Series Passport Season saw Daniel Lowery capture his 12th RGPS title and the top-prize of just over $100,000. It was Lowery's second ring of that series, and it did not take long to add another victory in his return to Palace Poker this week.
Lowery has great memories of his big week in the spring, and spoke about his Main Event win with PokerNews today.
"It was just a great week being here with RunGood, because we like to come to new places and Tana always tries to get me to come to one of the new places and I hadn't been to Dallas in a while before that. It's been a while, so I get to see a lot of old faces that I know and that was fun."
Lowery feels that the welcoming environment at this venue has contributed to his recent success, which continued with another ring earlier this week.
"I know a lot of people down here and any time that I'm having a good time, I feel like I play better, you know. Anytime I'm comfortable in a spot, I usually show really good results and that’s what kind of brought me back, really. I came down here Sunday, and Sunday night I got second in the Big O, and Monday I win a ring, so that tells you enough."
Lowery captured the 6-Max event for just under $7,500, adding to his lead atop the RunGood Poker Series all-time money list. That gave him an early look at the new RGPS season ring, as the Golden Expedition kicked off here in Dallas.
"I think I've got one each season. They're all really cool, you know, I couldn't tell you which one's my favorite. This one's really, I like this one and it's really nice."
Lowery plans to make another deep run in the Main Event, starting with the opening flights today.
"What I'm hoping to do today is just go ahead and build a good stack, bag it, and take a couple days off, enjoy time with some friends down here."

Yeong Joo Cho opened to 1,500 in early position, and Dora Coyle slid in a call. Mohammad Nabatian followed with a call, while Steven Townsend defended his big blind to the 10♥6♠3♥ flop.
Townsend checked to Cho, who continued for 3,500. Coyle raised to 8,000, and Nabatian called. Townsend folded, and Cho counted out a call.
Cho and Coyle checked the 7♥ turn, while Nabatian fired 10,000 into the middle. Cho called before Coyle got out of the way.
One last check from Cho followed the J♥ river, and Nabatian tossed out a bet of 15,000. Cho did not take long to call, and mucked her hand once Nabatian tabled A♥2♥ for an ace-high flush.
Douglas Drees moved all in on the K♣9♣A♥2♥ turn, and was at risk against when Christopher Tan called on his immediate left.
Douglas Drees: K♣2♣
Christopher Tan: J♥10♥
Drees revealed his two pair, while Tan held flush and straight draws. The 9♥ river completed Tan's flush, taking the last of Drees' stack. Drees quickly headed to the reentry desk for a fresh set of chips.
