The poker world moves fast and during massive events, it’s nearly impossible to keep track of everyone. Whether you’re following a high-stakes pro, a local hero from your home game, or a family member chasing a bracelet, PokerNews makes your life a whole lot easier with the launch of MyPlayers.
And it's now received a massive overhaul, as this new, free feature transforms how you consume live updates, and is available to all PokerNews users.
Cody Hughey walked into the room as the player to beat as the overall chip leader of the final 87 players returning to vie for the RunGood Poker Series Passport $600 Main Event title at the Downstream Casino Resort back in April.
After nearly 14 hours of play, nobody was able to knock him off his perch as he left with the first-place prize of $67,940 and the RGPS ring. Hughey has been a long-time friend of the RunGood Poker Series and worked as a manager at Hard Rock Tulsa. He had a wave of support from local players and RGPS Ambassadors who were pulling for the Muskogee resident.
“I’ve been around Tulsa poker for a long time, whether it’s as a manager working with Tana (Karn) or as a player,” Hughey said. “To watch it (RGPS) grow as much as it has, and to win a main event ring is very sweet. I had so many people in my corner rooting for me. It’s very special.”
