Stephens Smacks the River to Double Off Kittell
Level 5
: Blinds 300/600, 600 ante
Ryan Stephens three-bet to 9,600 in the big blind and Matthew Kittell called on the button.
The flop came J♣5♠6♦ and Stephens bet 8,000. Kittell called, and the 9♦ fell on the turn.
Stephens then moved all in for 21,900, and Kittell took a minute before calling. He showed 8♥8♦, while Stephens had Q♦10♦ for straight and flush draws. The K♥ river gave Stephens his straight, and he doubled up.
"Made a great call, and that happens. Giant sucking sound on the river," Kittell lamented.
