He and Craig Welko then went heads-up in a limped pot between the blinds, where Hays led out for 75,000 on the 6♣10♦K♠ flop. Welko called.
Hays bet another 125,000 on the 9♣ turn, and Welko raised to 375,000. "Works until it doesn't," Hays said as he folded.
Mike Scarborough then raised to 125,000 under the gun and was called by Hays on the button and Patty Till in the big blind.
Scarborough bet 175,000 on the J♥8♥K♦ flop and only Hays called. Scarborough checked the 4♠ turn, and Hays bet 300,000. Scarborough folded, and Hays showed A♦A♥ as he took the pot.
