Oldham Busts One With a "Sick Needle"

Level 10 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Cullen Oldham under the gun and an opponent in the cutoff got all their chips in the middle before the flop.

All-In Player: A♥Q♦ All in
Cullen Oldham: A♠K♠

Oldham had his opponent dominated, and the board ran out 2♠5♦6♠2♥A♦ to keep him in the lead with his king-kicker and secure the pot. The cutoff began making his way to the exit, but the rest of the table tried to call him back in case he had Oldham covered.

A count of the chips, though, revealed both players had the same 25,500 left in their stacks. "That's a sick needle," another tablemate added.

Cody Carlin is also at this table with a stack of around 200,000.

Jason Hunter bet 6,500 from the cutoff on a flop of Q♣5♥5♣ and Javier Terrazas called on the button.

The turn was the A♠ and Hunter checked over to Terrazas, who bet 12,000. Hunter then raised to 52,000, leaving himself only a few chips behind. Terrazas ended up tanking for nearly five minutes before another tablemate called the clock, and he eventually folded. Hunter later told him he had ace-jack.

Miller's Turn to Lose With Aces

Level 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Richard Birner
Richard Birner

Tristan Jappa raised to 3,000 in the hijack before Ben Miller moved all in for 25,000 in the small blind. Richard Birner then reshoved in the big blind, and Jappa got out of the way.

Ben Miller: A♦A♣ All in
Richard Birner: A♠K♠

Miller hit the last ace in the deck on the A♥Q♠6♣ flop to make top set, but the 10♥ turn and J♠ river gave Birner a running staight to win the hand and send Miller, runner-up in the Gateway Poker Classic here in August, to the rail.

At the same table, Kevin Howard has built up a stack of around 200,000.
