Players are on break for 15 minutes. Day 1a has hosted a total of 86 entries. Action will resume at the 300/600 level.
This hand was picked on the turn of a board that read 2♣8♠J♣7♠. Mike Travis checked his option from the hijack before Larry Morgan shoved on the button. Travis quickly called and put himself at risk for 13,300.
Mike Travis: A♣A♦
Larry Morgan: 7♥6♥
Travis was well ahead with his pair of aces, but he still needed to fade some outs as they went to the river.
The Q♥ river was safe as Travis secured the double to stay in contention.
Dee Wampler got it in from the hijack against an opponent from the big blind with her opponent at risk for approximately 13,000.
Opponent: A♠9♥
Dee Wampler: K♦Q♥
Wampler was slightly behind as they went to the flop, but that changed after the first three cards when the flop came 7♥K♥6♦.
Wampler had the better flush draw when the 3♥ hit the turn, and that turned out to be crucial as the 6♥ river gave both players a flush as Wampler scored the knockout.

Timmy Haecker opened to 1,600 from the hijack.
Larry Morgan called from the small blind, and Keighobad Jafarzadegan defended his big blind as the trio took a flop of 2♠2♣5♦.
All three players checked, bringing the J♠ turn. Both blinds checked it over to Haecker, who put out a bet of 2,600. Morgan called, but Jafarzadegan opted to check-raise all-in for 9,900. Haecker called. Morgan then chose to go all-in himself for 13,000 total. Haecker called and put both opponents at risk.
Keighobad Jafarzadegan: Q♦2♦
Larry Morgan: Q♥2♥
Timmy Haecker: Q♣J♣
Much to the chagrin of Haecker, both Morgan and Jafarzadegan flopped trip deuces despite both having the same hand and being dominated by Haecker's better queen-high as they went to a flop.
The 8♠ river sealed the deal as Morgan won the side pot, and both Morgan and Jafarzadegan chopped up the main pot.
This hand was picked up after the pot had grown to approximately 18,000 on a board that read J♥K♠3♣3♠.
Marvin Donaldson chose to go all-in for 11,100 from the small blind.
Bradley Bocke gave it considerable thought from the hijack as he asked for a count and mulled over the spot.
Bocke opted to fold and yield the pot to Donaldson on the turn.
John Millsap got the action started with an open to 1,500 from early position. Talon Voight called from the hijack, and Bart Bogard joined the fray from the big blind.
The J♥K♣5♣ flop was checked by Bogard before Millsap continued for 3,500. Voight folded, but Bogart called.
The 3♦ turn led to another check from Bogard. Millsap put out a second bet to the tune of 10,000. This was the end of the road for Bogard as he folded.
Millsap showed K♦K♥ as he collected the pot.

A player from early position limped before Rodney Spriggs followed with a limp from the hijack. Timothy Tatro joined with a limp from the cutoff. Colin Heaton chose to raise to 1,800 on the button. Both the early position opponent and Spriggs called, while Tatro folded.
The Q♣J♣6♥ flop was checked to Heaton, who continued for 3,000. The early position opponent called, while Spriggs got out with a fold.
Heaton bet 5,000 on the 5♦ turn when it was checked to him, but his opponent chose to respond with a check-raise to 13,000. Heaton called.
The 7♥ turn was checked by both players, and they went to showdown.
Heaton tabled A♠Q♠, which was good, as his opponent showed K♣10♣ for a missed straight draw.
