Varnell Doubles Through Duda

Bobby Randolph opened to 8,500 from early position and was called by Ralph Duda from middle position. Michael Varnell came along with a call from the big blind.

The 4♥2♦10♣ led to a check from Varnell. Randolph bet 9,500 and was called by both Duda and Varnell.

Varnell led out for 20,000 on the K♣ turn. Randolph called, but Duda wanted to play for more as he went all-in for approximately 160,000. Varnell went into the tank, giving it a long consideration as he eyed his opponents.

Varnell eventually made the call to be at risk for 89,500. Randolph folded.

Clouse would find a favorable turn when it came the 10♥ to give him a pair of tens.

The 9♣ did not compromise his lead as he took down the pot to stay alive on Day 1b.
