More than a championship ring is at stake in this final event of the RGPS season. Ambassadors Craig Welko and Nicholas Rigby arrived in South Florida ranked first and second in the race for Player of the Year. Rigby then won the $400 PokerNews PowerStack event, and followed it up by winning the $300 One Day event on the same day. It was Rigby’s 10th career RunGood ring, and incredibly his seventh just since March. Welko, meanwhile, was not to be outdone and replied by winning the $250 Big Bounty event yesterday.
Welko enters the Main Event just 23 points ahead of Rigby in the Player of the Year standings, and the season-long race between them will be settled within the next few days. A host of opponents, meanwhile, will try to stop them and enjoy their own place in the spotlight with RGPS glory.
Stay tuned as PokerNews follows all the action throughout the day and provides live updates.
