Spicer Busts Cooper
Level 8
: Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Christian Cooper opened to 2,700 from under the gun and was called by Darren Spicer on the button.
The flop came 5♦J♠Q♣ before Cooper continued for 3,000. Spicer called for the second time.
Cooper fired a second barrel of 15,000 on the 8♥ turn, leaving only an additional 1,200 behind. Spicer went all-in to put Cooper to the test for his tournament life. Cooper called for 16,200 total to be at risk.
Christian Cooper: 10♣10♠
Darren Spicer: K♠Q♦
Spicer was well ahead with his pair of queens as Cooper needed to spike a two outer to stay in contention.
The K♥ river instead hit Spicer to upgrade him to a two-pair to send Cooper packing.
