Loncar Eliminates Mai
Level 13
: Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Quoc Viet Mai was the first to act and opened the bidding with a raise to 10,000. Michael Loncar came along from the next seat over with a call, and Nicholas Scriabine joined with a call on the button.
Mai checked the 2♦5♥7♥ flop before Loncar put out a bet of 15,000. Scriabine folded, but Mai had other plans as he chose to check-raise all-in for 54,000. Loncar asked for a count before he made the call to put Mai at risk.
Quoc Viet Mai: A♣K♠
Michael Loncar: A♥J♥
Mai had the best hand with the better ace high, but Loncar was flush with outs.
The 10♦ was safe for Mai as he was one card away from a double up, but the river had other plans as the 9♥ river peeled to give Loncar a flush and eliminate Mai from Day 1b.
