"That's Quite a Sweat"

Joe Thiel
Joe Thiel

The action folded to Mike Fouts on the button and he raised to 5,000. Joe Thiel in the big blind moved all-in for 20,200 and Fouts made the call.

Mike Fouts: {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}
Joe Thiel: {a-Hearts}{j-Clubs}

Fouts threw up his hands when he saw that he was out-pipped, but his mood brightened when the flop came {q-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}. Fouts was still behind but now had a combo draw.

"That's quite a sweat," a player at the table commented.

Unfortunately for Fouts, the board bricked out with {4-Spades}{8-Spades} to complete the board, and Fouts was left with less than two big blinds after the stacks were counted down.

Licking Comes from Behind to Bust Two Players

We missed the preflop action, but Russell Licking called two all-ins preflop with {a-Clubs}{9-Clubs} and found himself up against {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs} and {a-Spades}{j-Hearts}.

The flop brought hope when it fell {9-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{6-Spades}, but he still needed help. The {4-Hearts} turn was a blank but Licking struck lightning on the river with the {9-Hearts}.

"That's my hand," Licking said, pulling the pot.

Caldwell Doubles Through Mullin

Scott Caldwell
Scott Caldwell

On a flop of {k-Spades}{q-Hearts}{9-Hearts} James Mullin and Scott Caldwell got all their chips in the middle. Mullin had Caldwell covered to put the latter at risk.

James Mullin: {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}
Scott Caldwell: {j-Spades}{10-Clubs}

Mullin's top set was in trouble against Caldwell's flopped straight, but Mullin had plenty of outs to come from behind with a full house or quads.

A {10-Hearts} turn brought some additional chop outs for Mullin, but none of them arrived with the {8-Diamonds} on the river.
