Below are the top chip stacks in the room:

Calvaneso On Top

Jerry Calvaneso
Jerry Calvaneso

To the surprise of no one who has been paying attention to the results of the 2015 Western New York Poker Challenge thus far, Jerry Calvaneso has vaulted in the chip lead and is the first player to hit the six-figure mark.

He bumped it up to 5,000 preflop and got one caller, who shoved all in on an {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{8-Spades} flop after Calvaneso checked.

Calvaneso called with {a-Spades}{7-Clubs} and was in front against his opponent's {k-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}. He stayed there after two blanks on the turn and river and is now stacking the chips - a familiar site at Seneca Niagara.

It's Better To Burn Out Than Fade Away

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
John Jemiolo
John Jemiolo

A hot start saw John Jemiolo jump into the early chip lead.

The rest of the day did not go as well as he just said goodbye running {10-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} into pocket queens to lose the last of an increasingly short stack.

In The Action

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Jerry Calvaneso
Jerry Calvaneso

Event #1 winner and Event #2 7th-Place finisher Jerry Calvaneso joined the action late, but has built his stack up and over 60,000 quite quickly.

At the same table, firing a second bullet has proved fruitful for Chuck Friedman who now sits among the leaders.

Meanwhile, a few seats over the ever-solid John Abraham was not so lucky. He got short and it in with {a-}{q-} versus {k-}{10-}.

Both an ace and a king flopped to keep him in the lead, but he lost his stack when a ten turned.
