Rob Forbes has jumped in the lead with 125,000 chips. He looks to finally carve out a win in his poker career after several final table appearances, and more notably a runner-up finish earlier this year in the WPT Fallsview Main Event for more than a quarter of a million dollars.

Here is a look at the top stacks as this first flight begins to come to a close:

First Flight in the Books

Level 10 : 500/1, 100 ante

Late registration is over for the first flight of Day 1A. The total entries closed out at 110, bringing the total prize pool to $29,150.

With three flights remaining, there is no doubt the guarantee will get blown out of the water. The total entries needed to meet the guarantee is 283.

The second flight for today begins at 6:00PM, with late registration closing at 10:25PM.

Day 1B begins tomorrow at 10:00AM with the same structure and flights.

Maria Parlatore Applies Pressure

Level 9 : 400/800, 100 ante

With about 7,500 in the pot, Rio Mansour leads out for 3,500 on a board reading {7-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{2-Spades}. Maria Parlatore is in middle position and raises to 8,000. Mansour thinks about it for a moment and decides to call.

The turn is the {a-Spades} and both players check to the river, which is the {6-Clubs}. Mansour leads out for 16,000 and Parlatore immediately goes all in for 46,500 total. Mansour thinks for a full minute before saying, "You've got a set of sixes, huh."

Eventually, Mansour folds and the chips are pushed Parlatore's way.

One Level to Go

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante

Just like that, registration for the first flight of this opening event is coming to a close. There is one level to go before the field will play down to the end of Level 14 or until 12% of the field remains - whichever comes first.

Flight B on Day 1A begins at 6:00PM and will follow the same structure. Registration will close around 10:25PM.

Day 1B is tomorrow and will provide players two more chances to go deep in this tournament. Day 2 will begin at 11:00AM on Sunday until a winner is crowned.

Good luck!
