Day 1a Completed
The first of four starting flights for the 2017 Seneca Niagara Falls Summer Slam $200 No-Limit Hold'em drew 88 entries Friday.
By the time they had played almost 13 levels, just 11 remained, reaching the 12 percent of the field mark and halting play for the flight.
Mark Roberts went on a heater late that included a double knockout to rise into the chip lead on over 300,000 heading into Day 2.
These 11 players will return for Day 2 Sunday and they will be joined by anyone pushing through the next three starting flights still to come.
PokerNews' Summer Slam coverage will continue with the second starting flight in this $200 No-Limit Hold'em reentry event set for 6 p.m. this evening.

Mark Roberts is suddenly a real threat to bag big after shoving 61,000 into a pot of about 50,000.
It was on the turn with the board reading ![]()

heads up with Newton Graziano. Graziano tank-called with the ![]()
and his two pair was behind Roberts' ![]()
straight.
The
did not give Graziano a full house and while he was left with 12,000, those chips were gone a hand later.

Jason Sardo shoved the big blind for 25,000 after Mitchell Gasiorowski limped in from the small.
He took his time about it, but Gasiorowski called with the ![]()
. Sardo had the dominating ![]()
, but was far from a favorite to double when the flop gave Gasiorowski both a flush and open-ended straight draw.
The turn made the straight and although Sardo had chop outs, the river blanked sending him home a little early.

Alicia LaPorte Pachla limped in with the ![]()
and called off 25,000 when one opponent shoved into her.
He had nines, and although Pachla flopped a jack and a flush draw, he turned a set to snatch back the lead. The river changed things again, bringing another club to complete Pachla's flush and with 18 left now, she's back in the thick of it.

Just 19 players remain headed into the last break of the flight.
The schedule calls for three more half hour levels. However, there is a chance they reach 11 players remaining, approximately 12 percent of the 88 player field, before they play those levels, at which point play would halt.
It's a tight race for the flight lead at this point with both Jeffrey Roth and Bob Doren hovering around the 130,0000-chip mark. They're also seated side-by-side, which could make for an interesting confrontation of they decide to tangle before the flight is finished.
