The registration for the ZAR 50,000 High Roller closed a while ago and the field reached 72 entries with currently 29 players remaining. They are spread among three outer tabled and the live stream feature table. The payout information is not available yet but all those still in contention are competing for ZAR 3,025,000 in prizes.
Cliton Taliwanth raised it up for both blinds to defend and the Q♣3♦2♥ flop was checked all the way. On the 7♠ turn, Wesley Wessels check-raised from 1,000 to 3,600 and Taliwant was the only caller.
Wessels led the 3♠ river for 7,100 and Taliwanth raised it up to 35,000.
"I don't know if I can fold," Wessels said and needed one time bank before doing so. Taliwanth tabled the 8♣3♣ for trips but it was no good against the 7♦3♥ of Wessels.
Nico Du Toit opened to 1,800 and received three callers that led them to the 10♣5♦4♦ flop. Jayson Zulch bet 5,000 when checked to and Jay Pereira one seat over on the button raised to 15,000. Only Zulch called and then check-called the 6♥ turn for 30,000.
Both opted to check the K♠ on the river and Zulch exposed the Q♦7♦ for a missed double draw. Pereira won the pot with the 10♠9♠ and admitted in table chat he would have folded to a shove on the river.
On a completed board of Tc8d8s2sTd], Abdul Samsodien checked and then faced a bet worth 12,000 by Caleb October. Both had previously tangled a few times already and Samsodien tank-folded once more, putting his opponent on pocket sevens.
"Straight flush," October replied. He didn't muck the cards right away and even exposed the 9♦ to his opponent.
Three ways with 1,800 each involved prior to the K♦K♥5♥ flop, Wesley Wessels checked out of the big blind. Robin Kayalsum bet 3,000 and then called a raise to 6,600 by Carrie Feinauer on the button while Wessels had folded.
They checked the K♣ turn and Kayalsum check-folded the 2♣ river to a bet of 12,000. Feinauer proudly rolled over her K♠8♦ for quads before scooping up the pot.
The turn showed 10♣3♦2♦4♥ and Jaco Mouton in the big blind as well as Rajeev Poonhath from an early position checked. Julie Ramos bet 4,000 on the button for Mouton to raise it up to 19,000. Only Pillay called while Ramos reluctantly folded.
Mouton jammed the 7♠ on the river and Pillay called to get shown 6♠5♥ for the nuts. That was all for this showdown, as Pillay chucked his cards into the muck and quickly left the tournament area.
With the flop reading 9♣7♣6♦, Nico Wiechers check-raised from 3,000 to 8,000 and Alvin Pillay called. Wiechers then bet the 9♥ turn for 12,000 and the 2♠ river for another 22,000. Pillay called both times and mucked when he was shown the Q♦9♦ for trips nines.
