Walsh Sets Up Two for the Double KO
Three-ways to the turn with the board reading 6♦5♦2♣10♠, there was already nearly 30,000 in the middle with Albert Lucenti having committed the last of his chips on the flop. However, there was still a sidepot between Cory Walsh in the big blind and Lewis Joles from middle position.
Walsh checked to Joles who jammed for 27,600, sending Walsh into the tank. After some time, he elected to call as the covering stack, putting both Joles and Lucenti at risk.
Albert Lucenti: 9♦8♦
Lewis Joles: J♠J♥
Cory Walsh: 2♠2♦
Walsh made the right call with his bottom set, and he was in good shape against the overpair of Joles in the sidepot. For the main pot, Lucenti had a gutshot straight flush draw.
However, the Q♣ would brick off on the river, leaving Walsh's set of deuces best as he eliminated two players and scooped a massive pot.
