Picking up the action on the K♥8♠2♣ flop, Wesley Blom bet 2,500 and Yoni Lipshitz called on the button. Daniel Scott then raised to 13,400 only for Blom to shove. Lipshitz got out of the way and Scott sigh-folded, then declared he didn't want to see Blom's cards.
In four-way action to the 6♦4♠2♦ flop, Keegan Naidoo bet 5,500 and got rid of Alan Jung, while Marko Nortje called on the button and Jehan Richards came along out of the big blind. That led the trio to the 8♣ turn on which Richards checked. Naidoo jammed for 56,900 and Nortje asked for a count before he reluctantly called after using two time banks.
Richards sigh-called with the words "there is so much value" to create the following showdown.

The river was the 5♣ and that improved Richards as well as Nortje to the eight-high straight. Naidoo lost the main pot and was eliminated in the large side pot by Nortje.
After he was eliminated on their table, Sugen Singh had asked Harold Brooks if he should re-enter now or wait for Day 1d at 6 p.m. local time. With the prospect of waiting nearly two hours, he opted to buy back in now and came back to the same table albeit different seat.
Singh and Brooks then tangled in a pot where they headed all the way to the 10♣10♦8♥K♥A♦ river. Singh jammed his last 6,800 and Brooks called with the A♣J♥ to get shown Q♦J♣ for broadway.
"On the flop I go nowhere because I can hit the nine. The turn gives me up and down," Singh told Brooks.

On the heads-up flop of A♠7♣5♠, Franco Da Matta raised to 8,500 and was called by his table neighbour who then checked the 4♦ on the turn. Da Matta pushed all-in and was awarded the pot without and further resistance.
Marco Macchia flopped two pair with the 9♦5♥ out of the big blind and faded a flush draw of J♣3♣ on the 9♥5♣2♣A♠3♥ runout to secure the double.
On his table, Keegan Naidoo can be found after his re-entry and the same also applies for Alan Jung. Jehan Richards entered for the first time while the field has already reached some 93 entries.
The elimination of Jonathan Hoal had vaulted Divan Van Wyk into a big stack and he then took on multiple opponents including Braam van Huyssteen with the latter leading the K♦6♥3♣ flop for 6,000. Only Van Wyk called and they checked down the A♠ turn as well as the 4♣ river.
Van Huyssteen revealed the K♠J♠ for a pair of kings, which beat the pocket tens of Van Wyk.
Harold Brooks made it 2,000 to go from under the gun and Sugen Singh called off a short stack one seat over. Jon Persent then three-bet to 7,500 and Brooks called. Singh jammed for 7,700 total to get called both ways.
On the 6♥5♣4♥ flop, Brooks check-called for 6,000 and then check-folded the 9♣ turn when Persent increased his sizing to 11,000.

"Aces?" Singh asked before the cards were exposed and then said "thank you ... I have three outs. Dealer, the king of spades please."
However, the river was the blank A♠ and that sent Singh to the rail for now.
