The Day 1 field continues to grow with now up to 81 overall entries and there are 65 players remaining. So far, a total of 13 re-entries have been purchased but expect that figure to rise in the next couple of hours.
In a three-bet pot to the A♦8♠5♦ flop, James Mendoza in the small blind continued for 15,500 and Calvin Lee called from under the gun. The 3♦ turn slowed down Mendoza and he checked, Lee bet 26,000 and Mendoza called.
That led them to the 7♠ river on which Mendoza checked again. Lee grabbed all but two of his chips after some consideration and his bet was worth 139,000 with 1,500 behind. Mendoza reluctantly called and his A♣Q♥ was good, as Lee only had the J♣J♦.
One hand later, he was forced all-in from the big blind and Yu Zhao limped in from under the gun. Bin Leng raised to 10,000 and Zhao folded.
Calvin Lee: J♣4♥
Bin Leng: A♣6♦
The Q♥10♥10♣7♠K♥ board sent Lee to the registration desk and he will certainly re-enter shortly. In the meanwhile, Viet Nam's Toan Chan Truong knocked out Martin Sedlak one table over to reduce the field further.
The chips go into the middle preflop with Haohui Ma all-in and at risk for around 109,000 with the K♥K♣. He is up against Liang Chen with the A♦Q♠ and the K♦J♣10♦ flop delivers top set versus broadway, as the chips would have gone in by that time anyways.
Nothing changes with the 2♦ turn and 8♣ river to send Ma to the rail soon after the dinner break.
After a couple of preflop raises, Nevan Chang found himself all in and at risk for a little over 80,000 chips. Pan Wang was the player to call and put Chang at risk and the cards were on their backs.
Nevan Chang: A♠K♦
Pan Wang: Q♠Q♥
It was a classic flip and the flop of 7♠5♠3♣ left Wang in the lead with his pocket pair. The 2♥ and 8♥ runout was no help to Chang who headed to the registration desk for another entry.
The cards were on their back already and Yuzhu Wang was at risk in a duel of shorter stacks against Chenghui Song. With the turn showing K♥Q♣7♥9♦, Song had taken the lead with the straight holding the J♣10♥ and Wang could only chop with his K♠10♦ if he were to hit another jack.
However, the 2♥ river was a blank and Wang departed.
The action started with an under-the-gun raise to 2,500 by Calvin Lee and Gavin three-bet to 6,500 in the next seat. Dan "Jungleman" Cates reraised to 15,000 and Toan Chan Truong called in the small blind. Lee also called the four-bet before Gavin five-bet to 106,500. Cates quickly called and the other two players folded.
Following the J♦4♥3♦ flop, Gavin bet 61,000 with 50,000 behind and instantly called all-in when Cates jammed on him.
Gavin: K♦K♣
Dan Cates: J♣J♥
The Q♥ turn and 4♦ river failed to keep Gavin in the mix and Cates vividly declared "Jungleman" while glancing down on his phone.
