Mark One Down for Randy

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

We caught the action after a flop of {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} and Randy Mark checked to his opponent who bet 1,625. Mark called and the {5-Diamonds} fell on the turn. Both players checked and the river was the {5-Clubs}. Mark bet 3,000 and his opponent folded pocket jacks face up.

Stoddard Cracks Early‏

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

We caught the tail end of the action, as "oohs and ahhhs" came from the table where Paul Stoddard got it all in versus the pocket aces of his opponent after a {j-}{2-}{2-} flop. Stoddard held pocket jacks which held for a big double.

Second Starting Flight Begins Today

Welcome back to the Mid-States Poker Tour main event at FireKeepers casino in Battle Creek, MI. This is the second of three “day ones” and the tournament will be looking to add to an impressive turnout on Day 1a that brought 122 entries.

The second stop of the year at FireKeepers, Jason Zarlenga emerged victorious in May, besting over 400 entries to take home over $100,000. Zarlenga is the all-time money winner on tour and currently sits in third place in the race for Player Of the Year. Allen Kessler was spotted in the building early this morning and is expected to be in the field here on Day 1b, testing out his own "Chainsaw-approved" structure.

The $1,100 buy-in tournament carries a $200,000 guaranteed prize pool and allows for one re-entry per flight. Cards are scheduled to be in the air at noon local time. The plan is to play 14 40-minute levels and do the same on Saturday for Day 1c. On Sunday, all surviving players will combine under one roof to play down to a winner.

Stick with PokerNews as we provide live coverage of the latest MSPT tour stop.
