Medesan Pushes Out Zarlenga

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

There was about 40,000 in the pot from preflop action on a flop of {9-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{j-Spades} and Alain Medesan had a bet of 35,000 out in front of him. Action was on Jason Zarlenga, who was on the button and in the tank.

Over a minute later, Zarlenga folded and Medesan took down the pot. Zarlenga asked Medesan what he had and Medesan remarked quietly in a manner that seemed cryptic, leading to some chuckles from their side of the table.

Zarlenga remarked back, saying he folded two queens.

Wolff Gets a Dub

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

An all in and a call were heard as Yao Yin had opened from the button and called Mike Wolff's three-bet all in from the small blind for 8,400 total.

MIke Wolff: {a-Clubs}{7-Hearts}
Yao Yin: {10-Spades}{7-Diamonds}

Wolff had Yin dominated and needed to fade the three tens in the deck to earn the double. He would do just that as the board came {9-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{5-Spades} to leave his ace kicker to the board's pair of threes best.

Engelbrecht Cracks Aces

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Jim Engelbrecht
Jim Engelbrecht

A player shoved all in for 10,400 from under the gun and action folded around to Jim Engelbrecht, who was on the button. Engelbrecht asked for a count and then shoved all in over the top. The two players in the blinds quickly folded and hands were tabled for the runout.

All-In Player: {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}
Jim Engelbrecht: {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades}

"Aces," said another player at the table as the all-in player tabled his hand. "And queens," the player added upon seeing Engelbrecht's. Engelbrecht hit gin on the turn and faded the two outer on the river as the board came {5-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{k-Clubs}, giving him a full house to top his opponent's aces up. The newly-eliminated player got up and wished everybody at the table good luck as the pot was sent Engelbrecht's way.

Nguyen Doubles Through Shen

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Albert Nguyen got all in from early position preflop for the 54,600 that was in his stack versus Li Shen, who was in the hijack. There was 8,600 in the middle from folded preflop action with another player at the table saying that he folded jacks before the flop.

Albert Nguyen: {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}
Li Shen: {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}

The board ran out {3-Spades}{2-Clubs}{2-Spades}{j-Hearts}{6-Spades}, leaving Nguyen's aces on top between the two hands in contention. The dealer counted out his 54,600 to confirm the total and Shen sent that amount Nguyen's way.

Mader Loses a Small One, Then Wins a Small One

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Hand #1: Phil Mader had opened from the cutoff and received calls from Lisa Thomas in the small blind and the player in the big blind. The flop fell {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{9-Spades} and Thomas, first to act, led out for 3,000. The big blind folded and Mader put in chips to call after a few moments.

Action checked through the turn {9-Spades} and river {3-Hearts} to take the hand to showdown.

Thomas tabled {a-Diamonds}{8-Spades} for top pair and Mader sent his cards to the muck, earning Thomas the pot.

Hand #2: On the following hand, Mader opened to 2,500 from the hijack and was called by the small blind. Action went heads up to the flop {5-Spades}{7-Hearts}{8-Clubs} and saw both players check.

The turn came {j-Clubs} and the small blind put out a bet of 3,500. Mader grabbed two T5,000 chips and put them in for a raise, announcing what sounded like seven thousand. His opponent immediately flung his cards to the muck and Mader took down the pot.
