Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Morrell Eliminates Miller To Bring About the Redraw Before Break

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Jerry Morrell
Jerry Morrell

Jerry Morrell open-jammed on the button to put the blinds all in, both of whom were shortstacked. John Miller was in the big blind and looked him up.

John Miller: {7-Diamonds}{7-Spades}
Jerry Morrell: {k-Hearts}{j-Hearts}

The flop {q-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{a-Spades} gave Miller four more outs to sweat, but the original six went away on the turn {7-Clubs}. Unfortunately for Miller, the river {10-Hearts} gave Morrell Broadway and eliminated im in 28th place on the very last hand before break.

Dean Dusted

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Slater Dean
Slater Dean

Slater Dean opened in early position to 100,000 and Barb Visher called on the button. Action went heads up to the flop {a-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{2-Clubs} and Dean continuation-bet another 100,000. Visher called.

The turn came {9-Hearts} and Dean bet another 250,000. Visher raised all in for Dean's effective 150,000 or so remaining, and Dean wasted no time committing it into the center.

Slater Dean: {a-Spades}{2-Diamonds}
Barb Visher: {a-Hearts}{j-Clubs}

Both players had flopped two pair, with Visher's ahead of Dean's and putting him at risk for his tournament life. The two outer did not come on the river {6-Spades} and he fell at Visher's expense, who now has just shy of 2 million with the three-table redraw looming very near.

Gutierrez Next To Fall

Level 23 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Zach Gutierrez
Zach Gutierrez

Two short stacks got all of their chips in the middle, with Zach Gutierrez at risk in middle position against Jonathan Bagwell in the cutoff.

Zach Gutierrez: {q-Clubs}{9-Hearts}
Jonathan Bagwell: {a-Diamonds}{9-Spades}

Bagwell connected with the flop {2-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}, leaving Gutierrez with nothing but running outs to stay alive. Those chances were squashed with the turn {10-Hearts}, and the river {j-Diamonds} fell behind it to bring about the end of his tournament life.
