Players are on a 40-minute dinner break as Level 12 has come to a close. Play will resume at 7 p.m. local time and late registration will close for Day 1c at that time. All players who wish to enter must do so on the dinner break or wait until Saturday's final Day 1d flight.
The Mid-States Poker Tour (MSPT) will be returning to the Venetian Las Vegas September 4-6 for what is sure to be another massive $1,100 Main Event, as is evidenced by the accompanying $500K Guarantee.
Per usual, MSPT Venetian will headline an entire series' worth of events held from August 30 through September 26, with two starting flights before the field combines on Sunday to compete for the MSPT title.
Recent MSPT Venetian winners include Chance Kornuth ($412,086) Harlan Miller ($367,801), Johnny Oshana ($130,000), James Carroll ($180,850), Korey Payne ($327,773), and Landon Tice ($201,529).
Who will be the next one to add their name to the list of aforementioned champions? PokerNews will be on hand to provide live updates as the answer to that question is determined.
Terry Wheeler was just spotted with a mountain of chips and confirmed the details of how he accumulated them, saying that he defended in the blinds on a stack of 80,000 and went three ways to a flop, where action checked around. The turn came and Wheeler bet out, with the original raiser piling his stack into the middle and Wheeler calling it all off.
Terry Wheeler:
Opponent:
Wheeler's flopped flush was ahead of his opponent's top pair, top kicker with the nut flush draw and he held as the river fell cleanly in his favor.
Moments later, Tan Hoang was overheard saying that he had just had 8,000 as he piled chips into two full racks of chips to change tables. It was later revealed he won a massive, three-way all in with a flopped a straight where he ultimately held versus a flush draw and another big hand. The pair now have two of the largest stacks in the room with less than 15 minutes remaining until the dinner break.

Ian Pelz open-jammed for 18,600 in the hijack and the player on the button re-jammed to isolate the remaining players out of the pot.
Ian Pelz:
Opponent: .
Pelz's opponent shrugged upon seeing his hand, realizing the two were in a coin flip for stacks. An eight in the window of a flop put Pelz further ahead.
"Agh. Nice hand," said his opponent, though Pelz still had running straight cards to fade. The turn made the backdoor gutter ball a possibility, but the river paired the board instead to give Pelz a full house and earn him the dub.

Nader Wahdan limped in early position and saw three limps behind before the big blind jammed for around 50,000. Wahdan called all in for 16,7000, as did the cutoff for 8,300.

Nader Wahdan:
Big Blind:
Wahdan fell victim to a two outer on the flop and the turn did him no favors. Luckily for him, the river brought him a three outer of his own to improve back to the best hand and score both pots to more than double.
