Pashaj Hits Royal Flush

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Jimmy Pashaj
Jimmy Pashaj

We got to the table with about 175,000 in the middle and the board showing {K-Spades}{10-Spades}{6-Clubs}{A-Spades}{6-Spades}. Ryan Franklin checked to Jimmy Pashaj who carefully counted a large bet in excess of 125,000. Franklin didn't even give the dealer time to count out the bet as he pushed his cards quickly into the middle. Pashaj turned over {Q-Spades}{J-Spades} for the turned royal flush. That pot pushed Pashaj over the half-million chip mark and he appears to be the chip leader currently with 20 minutes before the next break.

Ott Doubles Up Through Bowers

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

All the chips were in pre-flop and it was John Ott at risk with {A-Spades}{K-Clubs} against Rick Bowers and his {J-Hearts}{J-Spades}. The flop came {5-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{3-Spades} giving Ott a wheel draw to go with his two overs. The river hit one of his many outs as it was the {A-Diamonds} and the {7-Clubs} on the river ensured that Ott would double up.

Tom Rutland Eliminated in 14th Place ($4,350)

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Tom Rutland - 14th place
Tom Rutland - 14th place

We got to the table with the flop showing {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}{5-Spades} and Tom Rutland checking over to Steve Karp who put out a bet of 17,000. Rutland called and the turn was the {10-Hearts}. Rutland checked again and this time Karp bet 23,000. Rutland thought for just a few seconds before moving all in for just under 80,000. Karp had him slightly covered and after a few moments of deliberation made the call.

It was a good call as Rutland had {K-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts} for second pair with a couple of draws. Karp had {A-Clubs}{Q-Spades} and would fade Rutland's outs when the river was the {5-Diamonds}. The floor staff counted down the stacks and confirmed that Rutland was eliminated. He finished in 14th place for $4,350.

John Auville Eliminated in 15th Place ($4,350)

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
John Auville - 15th place
John Auville - 15th place

A short-stacked John Auville moved all in first to act from late position for approximately 80,000 with {A-}{8-} and was called by Ryan Franklin one to his left. Franklin held {A-}{J-} and would flop an unnecessary jack to send the popular Washington D.C. sports talk radio host off to collect his 15th place winnings of $4,350.

Bowers Doubles

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

We got to the table with a board of {9-Spades}{8-Hearts}{5-Spades} and Richard Bowers put out a pot-sized bet of 45,000. John Ott moved all in and was immediately called by Bowers. Ott tabled {J-Hearts}{J-Clubs} but was in bad shape against Bowers and his {K-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}.

The tun was the {8-Spades} and the river was the {6-Clubs} and Bowers stack was counted down and determined to be 106,000. Ott counted out the chips and pushed them into the center of the table.

Kay Cracks Aces to Burst Bubble

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Ouch!
Ouch!

We didn't catch the pre-flop action but a short-stacked Adam Macmillan was all in and at risk with {A-Hearts}{A-Spades} against Josh Kay who held {9-Clubs}{2-Clubs}.

The dealer turned the three flop cards over with a dramatic pause, the first card on top was the {9-Diamonds}. He then spanned the other two cards and the table made a collective moan when the {2-Spades} joined the {7-Clubs} to give Kay two pair. The turn was the {Q-Clubs} and Macmillan would need a queen, seven, or ace to stay alive.

The river was the {3-Clubs} giving Kay a flush and eliminating a frustrated Macmillan one short of the money.

On the Bubble

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Parry Shaw was just eliminated in 17th place when he open shoved for 117,000 with {Q-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} and was called by Jimmy Pashaj who had woken up with {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}. Shaw would pick up some outs when the flop and turn came {A-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} but the river was the {7-Clubs} to eliminate Shaw.

Jon Ferraro was eliminated in 18th place in unseen action.

Schmidt Falls to Straight Flush

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

We didn't catch the hand but Monty Schmidt was eliminated in 19th place, four short of the money, when he ran a straight into the straight flush of Joe Ebanks. They are now breaking a table down to the final two tables.

Mark Kroon Eliminated

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

It was folded to Aristoteles Neto who limped in. Mark Kroon was one to his left and moved all in. It was folded back to Neto who shrugged his shoulders and made the call. Neto turned over {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} and Kroon said "you could have at least made it a race" as he turned over {A-Spades}{7-Spades}.

"There's an 82% chance the {A-Hearts} is going to flop," Kroon said to Neto. The 18% side came though as the flop was {10-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{2-Spades}. The turn was the {8-Spades} giving Kroon a flush draw but the river was the {6-Diamonds} and Kroon, the talkative pro, was silenced.
