Nizan's Aces Deliver a Knock Out

Level 13 : 1,500/3,000, 300 ante
Moshe Nizan
Moshe Nizan

Moshe Nizan opened the action for 8,500 and a short-stacked player two seats to his left moved all in for her last 15,400. It was folded back to Nizan who took a moment before calling. He turned over {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs}, somewhat surprising the rest of the table because of how slow he had reacted when the action got back on him. His opponent had {A-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} and was in dire straights. She would hit a nine on the flop but no miracle would arrive and she would be eliminated.

"Even I don't fold those. I couldn't believe what I had," replied a sheepish Nizan when explaining why he took more than a millisecond to make the call. He was up to 80,000 after taking down the pot.

It All Leads To Beautiful Aruba

Level 13 : 1,500/3,000, 300 ante

When it comes to top poker destinations, there aren't many places in the world that rate as high as Aruba, and for the third year running the PPC Poker Tour will return to the beautiful island for the PPC Aruba World Championship.

Taking place this year from October 15-21 at the Radisson Aruba, the series will feature nine events highlighted by a $200,000 guaranteed Main Event with a buy-in of $2,200. The Main Event will begin on Saturday, October 18, feature two starting days, and allow for reentry.

In 2012, Joe Serock won the event for $40,574 after he and Jesse Chinni chopped up first- and second-place prize money. Then in 2013, it was Germany's [Removed:65] taking the top prize of $59,139 after a heads-up deal with Joe Ebanks. Remarkably, Serock placed third in that event for $26,000 in an impressive back-to-back performance.

Handfuls of players have already won a package to Aruba through various PPC Poker Tour events, and there's still plenty of time for you to do the same, or simply book a trip for the event.

To book your trip now, you may contact Bridget Stein at (561) 883-3523 or email [email protected]. To view information about upcoming PPC Poker Tour stops, please clicking here.

Marzan Applies Pressure

Level 13 : 1,500/3,000, 300 ante

We get to the table and Ralph Marzan has raised pre-flop and found one caller from the player on the button. The flop came {7-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} and the PPC Player of the Year Leaderboard leader, Marzan, moved all in. His opponent didn't want to risk his tournament life and mucked his cards. Marzan showed {8-}{8-} and moved his stack up to 155,000 with that pot.

Darr Doubles

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 200 ante
Steve Darr
Steve Darr

With a flop of {K-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}, Steve Darr moved all in for 29,200 and had one opponent who was mulling over whether to call or not.

"Are you on a flush draw?" his opponent asked. Darr sat motionless, no response.

A female walked over to Darr's opponent and said something to him before leaving. "If she hadn't walked over, my decision would have been much easier," he said. He tossed out a single yellow T1,000 chip indicating a call and turned over {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs} for a pair of jacks. Darr turned over {K-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} for a pair of kings and Darr's opponent tapped the table to acknowledge the good hand.

The turn was the {9-Spades} and the river was the {9-Diamonds} and Darr exhaled as he scored the crucial double up to 80,000 in chips.

Out But Still Smiling

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

We weren't able to catch her name but in a recent hand, a woman was eliminated when her {Q-Hearts}{J-Clubs} went up against two players, both of whom held {A-}{Q-}. She flopped an open-ended straight draw on the {10-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{3-Diamonds} flop but was unable to improve.

Knowing she was gone, she smiled and said to her neighbor "I'm amazed I lasted this long." She waved good bye to the remaining players at her former table. Yet another reason to take part in the festivities here at The Silk Poker Room is the good nature of players, even after being eliminated.

Three Bet Flop From Mole Takes it Down

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

We got to the table with approximately 10,000 in the pot and a bet of 4,000 in front of Joe Mole on a {Q-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{3-Spades} flop. The player in the small blind, immediately to Mole's left, check-raised to 11,000. Mole was having none of it and three-bet to 34,000.

His opponent tanked for about a minute before letting his hand go and Mole took down the pot and moved his stack into six figures at 105,000.
