Dwan Doubles Through Cao

Level 7 : 0/0, 5,000 ante
Tom Dwan
Tom Dwan

Tom Dwan limped in with {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs} and Phil Ivey limped in as well holding {K-Spades}{J-Clubs}. Rui Cao was on the button and he raised to 55,000 holding {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}. Action was back on Dwan who moved all in for a bit less than 300,000 and Ivey folded promptly. Cao called and it was off to the races with Cao's hand have the slight edge over Dwan's.

The flop changed things though when it came {A-Clubs}{8-Spades}{7-Clubs}. Dwan's top pair took the lead and it held up through the {9-Spades} turn and the {A-Diamonds} river and that allowed him to double up to over 600,000.

Sass Fires his Fourth Bullet, Ready for a Fifth

Level 7 : 0/0, 5,000 ante

Alan Sass opened with a raise to 150,000 after a limp from Paul Phua. Action folded to the button where Gabe Patgorski moved all in with a covering stack on both players. Phua tanked then folded, but Sass called.

Alan Sass: {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}
Gabe Patgorski: {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}

Paul Phua made note that he folded nine-ten, then let out a groan when the flop came down {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}{6-Diamonds}. The turn was the {Q-Clubs} which put Sass in the lead, bit it was only fleeting as the river was the {J-Spades} giving Patgorski a straight and the pot.

Sass, who was working on his fourth entry of the day was eliminated and immediately headed to the registration desk for a fifth.

Lamb Rivers Broadway

Level 6 : 0/0, 4,000 ante

Peter Jetten open-shoved for 156,000 under the gun and cutoff Ben Lamb reraised all in to isolate the action.

Jetten: {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}
Lamb: {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}

Jetten hit a queen on the flop but Lamb made a runner-runner Broadway on {A-Spades}{7-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{J-Spades} to eliminate Jetten just before break. Jetten reloaded and continued with 100,000.

Dwan Amassing Chips

Level 6 : 0/0, 4,000 ante

After Preflop action there was roughly 170,000 in the pot with Tom Dwan on the button and Ivan Leow under the gun.

The flop was {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} and both players checked to the {J-Hearts} on the turn. They checked again to see the {Q-Spades} on the river and there, Leow checked. Dwan put out a bet of 125,000. Leow tanked for a bit, then called.

Dwan showed {10-Hearts}{9-Hearts} for a straight and that would earn him yet another pot chipping him up to nearly 720,000

Alan Sass
Alan Sass

Alan Sass got in his 112,000 on the last bullet of his third buy-in. He held {K-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} and faced off against the {A-Hearts}{10-Spades} of Rui Cao. The board of {9-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{9-Spades}{Q-Hearts} didn't help Sass and he lost his total ninth bullet. However, Sass refused to give up: "I'll be right back," he said before heading to the registration desk to fire his fourth entry.

The Better Your Hand, The Better My Hand

Level 6 : 0/0, 4,000 ante
Gabe Patgorski
Gabe Patgorski

Paul Phua limped in from early position and Siow Choon Tong moved all in for a bit less than 100,000. Gabe Patgorski then moved all in over the top for around 120,000. Action folded back to Phua.

"Aye yah," Phua said turning over the {A-Diamonds}. He then turned over the {A-Clubs} and called quickly, laughing.

"Paul just slowrolled me," Patgorski said, calling over to the other table.

Paul Phua: {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}
Gabe Patgorski: {9-Spades}{7-Spades}
Siow Choon Tong: {A-Hearts}{10-Spades}

"That's ok, just put one eight on the flop," Patgorski said.

The flop did have an eight when it came {K-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{6-Clubs}, giving him a straight draw. He completed it on the {10-Diamonds} turn. The river was the {7-Clubs} which was meaningless and Patgorski earned a near triple up.

"I trapped you," Phua said after the hand.

"That's ok," Patgorski said. "I wanted you to trap me. The better your hand, the better my hand."

Ivey Turns Kings into Bluff, Gets Called by Worse

Level 6 : 0/0, 4,000 ante

In a four-way action on the {Q-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{A-Hearts} flop, Phil Ivey checked the {K-Hearts}{K-Clubs} in the first position and Ben Lamb checked {A-Clubs}{9-Clubs}. Rui Cao fired 20,000 with {10-Diamonds}{9-Spades} and Alan Sass called in position, holding {K-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}.

Ivey, however, woke up with a check-shove, getting rid of Lamb and Cao. Sass called for his 192,000 total and Ivey found out that he was actually holding the better hand.

Ivey's kings held on the {9-Hearts} turn and {J-Hearts} river and he forced another bullet from Sass.

Lamb Over Ivey

Level 6 : 0/0, 4,000 ante

Phil Ivey and Ben Lamb were in late positions, coming to the {J-Spades}{8-Hearts}{7-Clubs} flop when we arrived. Ivey checked in the cutoff and Lamb fired 14,000. Ivey called and they checked the {A-Hearts} turn and {10-Diamonds} river.

Ivey rolled over {K-}{J-} for a flopped top pair but he trailed Lamb the whole way as Lamb turned up {8-Spades}{7-Spades} for two pair. Lamb took down the small pot and stacked the newly earned chips to his large piles.

Alan Sass was eliminated on the secondary table. He rebought in and took a seat on the feature table. Sass immediately jammed in the cutoff and Phil Ivey called.

Sass: {9-Clubs}{6-Hearts}
Ivey: {J-Clubs}{J-Hearts}

Sass flopped two pair on {k-Spades}{9-Spades}{6-Diamonds} and he stayed ahead of the {8-Diamonds} turn. Ivey could only hope for a jack on the river and he got one as the {J-Spades} hit the felt.

"Ivey gonna Ivey," Randy Lew said on the stream.
