Haxton Busts to Cao

Level 16 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante
Rui Cao - Isaac Haxton
Rui Cao - Isaac Haxton

Rui Cao limped in from the button and Isaac Haxton moved all in for 75,000 in the small blind. Stephen Chidwick called from the big blind, as did Cao. On the {8-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{4-Hearts} flop, Chidwick checked and folded to a bet of 85,000 by Cao.

Isaac Haxton: {K-Spades}{6-Diamonds}
Rui Cao: {4-Spades}{4-Clubs}

"I have a gutshot," Haxton said when the cards were revealed, but the {10-Hearts} turn and {5-Diamonds} river were of no help to see Haxton bow out in 12th place.

Break With 12 Remaining

Level 15 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

The remaining 12 players headed into a 15-minute break, in which the T-1,000 chips were raced off. Furthermore, the tables were also moved to the outer section as well to prepare the upcoming High Stakes cash game.

Another two levels maximum are scheduled for tonight or down to the last nine players, whichever of the two comes first.

Sontheimer Extends Lead

Level 15 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Over on the feature table, Steve O'Dwyer made it 56,000 to go on the button and Steffen Sontheimer chose to defend from the big blind and it was heads-up to a flop of {5-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{j-Clubs}.

Sontheimer checked and O'Dwyer checked it back and the {3-Spades} came in on the turn, which saw Sontheimer bet 150,000. O'Dwyer made the call and the {j-Hearts} washed in on the river.

This saw Sontheimer bet 378,000 and O'Dwyer mulled it over, before making the call with {6-Hearts}{4-Hearts} but could only fold when Sontheimer showed down {q-Diamonds}{j-Spades}.

Sontheimer climbed to 2.99 million while O'Dwyer took a hit and dropped to 1.5 million.

Kisacikoglu Busts to Sontheimer

Level 15 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante
Orpen Kisacikoglu is out
Orpen Kisacikoglu is out

Over on the feature table, a big pot played out between Turkey's Orpen Kisacikoglu and Germany's Steffen Sontheimer saw the former's tournament come to a close, courtesy of the latter.

It was Sontheimer who was the instigator, raising to 55,000 from under-the-gun and picking up a slew of callers with Dietrich Fast (UGT+1) coming along for the ride, Kisacikoglu calling from the hi-jack and Mikita Badziakouski calling from the big blind to take the action four-way to a flop of {a-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}.

Badziakouski checked the action over to Sontheimer, who c-bet 90,000 with Kisacikoglu the only caller taking the action heads-up to the {9-Diamonds} turn. This saw the German player fire a second barrel, this one a slightly larger 325,000 which Kisacikoglu again called and the {3-Spades} came in on the river.

After taking his time over his decision Sontheimer pulled the trigger and moved all-in putting Kisacikoglu to a decision for his tournament life. After tanking Kisacikoglu made the call and discovered the bad news - Sontheimer had flopped top two with {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}, which was ahead of Kisacikoglu's {A-Spades}{J-Diamonds}.

That was it for Kisacikoglu and he hit the rail in 13th while Sontheimer climbed into the chip lead with a stack of 2.4 million

Loeser vs Jetten on Outer Table

Level 15 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Over on the outer table, Manig Loeser raised to 55,000 in the cutoff and was called by Peter Jetten on the button. The duo headed to the {A-Clubs}{A-Hearts}{2-Spades} flop and Loeser continued for 38,000, Jetten called.

After the {J-Spades} turn no betting action took place and Loeser checked the {9-Clubs} on the river. Jetten took the betting lead and made it 240,000, which ended up winning the pot without further resistance.

Sontheimer Doubles Through Torbergsen

Level 15 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Over on the feature table, Marius Torbergsen raised it up to 55,000 from the hi-jack and Steffen Sontheimer moved all-in for 504,000 from the big blind. Torbergsen took nearly the full 30-seconds but elected to call and the cards were turned over.

Steffen Sontheimer: {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}
Marius Torbergsen: {8-Spades}{8-Clubs}

Sontheimer was the at-risk player, but had the best hand and it held when the run out came down {a-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{j-Spades}{5-Clubs}{k-Spades} to double the German up to 1,080,000 while Torbergsen dropped to 692,000.

Chidwick Doubles With a Royal Flush

Level 15 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Rui Cao opened the action with a raise to 55,000 on the outer table and Stephen Chidwick moved all in from the big blind. Cao asked for a count and called when it was deemed to be for 479,000.

Stephen Chidwick: {K-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}
Rui Cao: {K-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}

The {A-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{7-Clubs} flop put a deadlock on the hand for Chidwick, and he then spiked the magical {J-Clubs} on the turn to improve to a royal flush. The {4-Spades} river was all but a formality while Peter Jetten gasped "wow, don't think I have seen a royal flush in a long time."
