Quads Cracks Aces to Move Thorel Over One Million, Petrangelo the Victim
Level 5
: Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
Jean-Noel Thorel raised to 5,000 from middle position, and Nick Petrangelo three-bet to 20,000 on the button. When the action returned to Thorel, he called.
Thorel check-called when Petrangelo continued for 20,000 on a 3♥2♦3♦ flop, and the same sequence occurred on the K♥ turn; Thorel check-called again when Petrangelo barreled for 80,000.
The 3♠ completed the board, and Thorel checked a final time. Petrangelo bet 300,000, leaving 36,000 behind. Thorel put him all-in, and Petrangelo called.
Petrangelo had A♥A♣ for top full house, but was a long way behind the quads of Thorel, who flipped over 3♣2♣.
