One of the most successful online poker players of all time, Alexandros "Pwndidi" Theologis, can now add a Triton title to his stacked list of achievements after taking down the very first event of the Triton Super High Roller Series Jeju II.

Theologis collected $642,000 for winning the $15,000 NLH 8-Handed, securing his maiden title on the game's biggest high-stakes tour, after outlasting a star-studded final table featuring reigning GPI Player of the Year Punnat Punsri, Adrian Mateos, and Wai Kiat Lee.

"I was really looking forward to winning a Triton trophy," Theologis told PokerNews after his victory. "I have a second place and a few third places, so to finally close one out definitely feels great."

"I was very fortunate to manage to win. As you said, it was very swingy. I lost a lot of chips and then came back, so yeah, it all worked out in the end," added a beaming Theologis after the post-victory snaps and celebrations.

Punnat Punsri shoved from the small blind for 6,500,000 for Victor Chong to make the call from the big blind with the bigger stack.

Punnat Punsri: A♥3♣ All in
Victor Chong: A♣J♣

The flop came J♥K♥8♣ for Punsri to pick up a shot at a backdoor flush but Chong hit middle pair.

The turn was the 7♣ to leave Punsri drawing dead while the J♦ completed the board to seal the deal by giving Chong trips.

Punsri got up from his chair, shook Chong's hand, walked over to Alexandros Theologis for a hug goodbye, and gave his final fist pump to Chong before making his way off the stage to collect another six-figure cash.

Yet another deep run in a Triton event for one of the most consistent players on the circuit in Wai Kiat Lee.

Lee raised to 1,000,000 from the button, before Alex Theologis came over the top for 9,400,000, and Lee called.

Wai Kiat Lee: A♠10♠All in
Alex Theologis: A♣8♣

The Malaysian star was well ahead, but the runout had other ideas. The board came 2♥3♦8♥J♥K♥ with Lee gracefully offering GG's to the remaining three players before exiting the tournament area.

Yin Tao Eliminated in 5th Place ($194,500)

It's the end of a fairytale run for Yin Tao, after the Triton debutant lost out in the battle of the short stacks with Wai Kiat Lee.

Tao, down to just a few blinds, moved all-in for 2,100,000, with only Lee making the call.

Yin Tao: J♠10♠ All in
Wai Kiat Lee: A♦7♠

Lee had much the best of it on the A♥7♦K♠ flop, and he always managed to stay ahead despite Tao having outs on the 10♦ turn and 8♥ river.

There were fist bumps all round the table for Tao's performance, staggeringly impressive in his first-ever Triton tournament.

Daniel Rezaei Eliminated in 6th Place ($147,000)

It's the end of the road in the $15k NLH 8-Handed for Daniel Rezaei, after the crusher ran into trouble against Victor Chong.

Rezaei raised to 2,000,000 from the button, Chong moved all-in from the big blind, and Rezaei called.

Daniel Rezaei: Q♦J♦All in
Victor Chong: A♣6♦

It was pretty much a 50/50 going to the flop which came 5♠5♦2♠. The A♦ turn card improved Chong to two-pair but gave Rezaei outs with his flush draw.

However, the Q♠ was too little, too late, for the Austrian and his excellent run came to an end in 6th.

Ehsan Amiri Eliminated in 7th Place ($108,000)

Ehsan Amiri's deep and hugely entertaining run in the $15k NLH 8-Handed has come to an end at the hands of Daniel Rezaei.

The Aussie was down to just a few blinds when he raised to 1,300,000, prompting a shove from Rezaei in the big blind and Amiri making the call for his tournament life.

Ehsan Amiri: K♠Q♠All in
Daniel Rezaei: A♥J♥

The duo was laughing and joking around as the dealer fanned the J♠5♣8♥ flop, putting Rezaei well-ahead, and when the 9♥ turn hit, Amiri hilariously tried every trick in the book, rapping the table, grabbing his bag and offering congratulations to Rezaei.

The good-humored dark arts wouldn't work on this occasion, however, as the 5♥ completed the board and sent Amiri to collect his payout.
