Tilling the Field

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Miikka Anttonen had raised preflop to 2,200 from middle position and Mark Tilling reraised all in for 24,000 from the blinds.

Instant call.

Anttonen: {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}
Tilling: {9-Clubs}{8-Clubs}

The flop came {10-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} and the Finn shook his head, the {4-Spades} turn and {2-Diamonds} river changing nothing.

A Shaw Thing

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Edward Ramshaw led out for 4,000 on a {Q-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} flop before Michael Jones moved all in for about 25,000. Ramshaw thought for a minute then made the call but he didn't like what he saw.

Ramshaw: {K-Spades}{9-Spades}
Jones: {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}

The {4-Clubs} on the turn didn't change anything but the {K-Diamonds} river gave Ramshaw two pair. There was a countdown but Jones was covered and hence eliminated.

Early Double for Philip

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

If you’re short stacked then what you need is a double up. That’s exactly what PokerStars Team Online Pro Dale Philip got ten minutes in when his shove with {2-Spades}{2-Hearts} was called by Simon Deadman with {a-Clubs}{j-Spades}. The board ran out {10-Spades}{k-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} and Philip won his flip.

Anttonen Exits with a Straight.

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

PokerStars SportsStar Fatima De Melo opened for 2,100 and was called by Steven Ridgway sat to her left. Miikka Anttonen from Finland, who had just shoved the previous hand over an opener, now called in the big blind. “Might as well eh?” Teased De Melo. “Low cards, one time.” Responded Anttonen. Three players saw a flop of {10-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}. Anttonen checked and De Melo continued for 2,500.

Ridgway then made it 10,000 to go and Anttonen asked for the red all-in triangle to be thrown over to him. Back to De Melo who looked on in amusement as Anttonen put his jacket on. His all-in looked to be about 10,000 and De Melo seemed to have a decision. “Putting your Jacket on?” She asked. “It’s cold in here you know?” It wasn’t and De Melo folded. Anttonen’s stack was exactly 10,000 and the cards were turned over.

Anttonen had {q-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} for the flopped straight and Ridgway tabled {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} for the nut flush draw. The {5-Diamonds} on the turn sealed Anttonen’s fate and the river fell {a-Spades}.

Kelly: {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}

Low Risk

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Nick Abou Risk opened for 2,000 and was called by Tomasz Chmiel from Poland and Mick Graydon. The blinds folded and the dealer put out a flop of {2-Spades}{5-Hearts}{j-Clubs}. Abou Risk made a continuation bet of 2,600 and was now doubt disappointed to get 2 callers. {6-Spades} on the turn and Abou Risk checked. Chmiel bet 9,300 and took the pot down.
