Slater Flops a Set, Gimenez Calls River Shove With Five Seconds Remaining

Level 17 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Nathan Slater

There were already over 100,000 chips in the middle on a full board of 10375K when Artus Gimenez had bet 65,000 on the river, and Nathan Slater shoved for around 180,000.

Gimenez was in the tank for quite some time, so long in fact that the floor were called to initiate a countdown. With five seconds remaining until his hand would be declared dead, Gimenez called.

Slater then flipped over a set with 33, and Gimenez showed KJ for a pair of kings.

"You're flopping sets so often, you are," said Gimenez to Slater.

Kenny Hallaert
Kenny Hallaert

Kenny Hallaert opened from under the gun to 12,000 and got called by Mitchell Speck two seats down. Sebastian Crane in the small blind and Thomas Bingham in the big blind also came along.

The four saw a flop of J95, which checked to Speck, who fired 20,000. Crane and Bingham folded, then Hallaert made it 55,000. Speck called.

Both checked the K turn to see the 8 river, where Hallaert bet 90,000. After thinking it over, Speck decided to lay it down, and Hallaert was pushed the pot.

Chan Backdoors Quads to Send Wilkinson Out

Level 17 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Groans could be heard from Adam Wilkinson over at Table #31 as he had just been eliminated in brutal fashion.

The chips went into the middle postflop with Wilkinson having flopped a flush holding KQ on the 6A8AA board.

Unfortunately for Wilkinson, Chan backdoored quads holding AK!

Fisher's River Bet Goes Uncalled, Montgomery Wants to Run it

Level 18 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

There were around 60,000 chips in the pot on a flop of 75Q when first-to-act Gary Fisher checked and Alex Montgomery fired 14,000 from the next seat. Jean-Emmanuel Lhuillier called in position, and Fisher also called.

All three checked the A turn to the 6 river where Fisher led out for 44,000. Montgomery got out of the way, and Lhuillier went into the tank. After thinking it over for quite some time, Lhuillier eventually decided to fold, and Fisher took the pot.

"Next time just three-bet me and we can run it. I had a monster!" said Montgomery to Lhuillier.

George Demetriou had ten-big-blind stack in the middle and was behind to the superior hand of Michael Casson.

George Demetriou: AJ All in
Michael Casson: AK

Demetriou needed to find some help from the dealer, but it didn't look good on the 9104 flop. When the 2 hit the turn, Demetriou vocalized what he wanted to see on the river.

"Diamonds!" shouted Demetriou.

However, it was to no avail, as the 6 completed the runout, which sent Demetriou to the rail.
