Hot Tom-on-Tom Action!

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Thomas Ward pushed all in from early position for 81,000. The action was passed to Thomas van Veelen on the button and he reraised all in, everyone else folded.

Ward: {7-Clubs}{7-Hearts}
van Veelen: {J-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}

The Dutch player was in front but the board came {7-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{5-Spades}{K-Clubs} and van Veelen hung his head in shame. He dropped to to 190,000 while Ward moved up to 175,000.

Mathias Out, Down to Twenty Four

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Rhydian Mathias was another player getting low on chips and shoved the last of it in with {q-Hearts}{10-Clubs}. It fell to Fintan Gavin to give him a spin with {a-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}.

The cards ran out {10-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{8-Spades} and Mathias couldn’t get there. He was next to fall and that meant there was a re-draw for the last 24 players.

Kelly Gone

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Ian Marmion, a Rational Group Staff Member, had been raising Adam Kelly’s big blind all day. This time Kelly defended to see a flop of {3-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{3-Spades} and then shoved. Marmion shrugged and called as it wasn’t for much more.

Kelly held {7-Spades}{6-Spades} and had been looked up by the {q-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} of Marmion. A turn card {8-Spades} and river {4-Diamonds} saw Kelly hit the rail.

McCluskey Out Kicked and Out

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Mark McCluskey
Mark McCluskey

Mark McCluskey got the last of his chips across the line with {a-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}. Unfortunately for him he ran in to Martins Adeniya who made the call with {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}.

With a final board showing {k-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{q-Spades}{9-Clubs}{7-Hearts} McCluskey was out and Fintan Gavin tease Adeniya that he had never seen him lose a pot in that sort of situation.

No Wei

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Wei Li will be smarting, he was all in with {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} against Joself Snejberg's {A-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} and looked good for a double up until the river of the {2-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{10-Hearts} board ruined his chances.

Just 27 players remaining.

From Robusto To Busto: Woods Out

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Darren Woods
Darren Woods

Darren Woods started the day with a massive chip lead and in just under two hours of play he is out. Losing a succession of pots he was getting short, but not that short, when he decided to three-bet shove for 194,000 from the big blind over an open from Andre Wagner in the small blind.

Wagner called with {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} and was against the {a-Hearts}{2-Hearts} of Woods. The board ran out {5-Spades}{5-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} and despite flopping the nut flush draw Woods was felted, out in 30th place.
