Benny Glaser Wins the €2,200 High Roller!

Level 7 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Benny Glaser
Benny Glaser

While the field was reduced from five to the final two rather quickly once the money bubble burst, Benny Glaser and Valentin Cristea battled for more than two hours to determine a champion in the €2,200 High Roller. Glaser entered heads-up with a commanding 3-1 lead, but Cristea took over the lead when doubling with ace-queen versus pocket tens.

Eventually, Glaser was the 1-3 underdog but managed to win several pots and regain a commanding 7-1 lead. At blinds of 5,000/10,000 with 10,000 big blind ante, Glaser jammed with {K-Clubs}{J-Clubs} and Cristea called for his last 10 big blinds with the {Q-Clubs}{J-Spades}. The board came {9-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{4-Spades}{7-Clubs}{8-Clubs} and Glaser won the trophy with a flush.

Unibet Poker ambassador Ian Simpson, who had railed for quite some time, was among the first to congratulate. Three-time WSOP bracelet winner and mixed game specialist Glaser won yet another trophy, this time in No-Limit Hold'em and will certainly take part on Day 1b of the €1,100 Main Event after a good night's sleep.

Rink Takes From Kayhko

Level 7 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Mark Rink bet the river of a board {A-Spades}{J-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{J-Spades} for 10,000 and his sole remaining opponent Jaakko Kayhko called to get shown {Q-Hearts}{J-Diamonds} for trips jacks by Rink. Former big stack Kayhko mucked and Rink claimed the pot to even out their stacks. In the meanwhile, Simon Hemsworth has taken over the chip lead at this very table with around 100 big blinds.

Dinner Break on Day 1a

Level 6 : 400/800, 100 ante

With the conclusion of level six, the remaining 61 players out of a field of 95 entries have been sent into their 60-minute dinner break. The registration for the first of three starting days will close once the cards go back in the air for level seven.

First to act, Mateusz Moolhuizen moved all in for the last 3,150 and the action folded around to the blinds.

"I am so tight, I haven't played a hand in two hours," Moolhuizen joked with a big grin on the face. Gabor Csire in the small blind was tempted, but then pointed to big stack Guillaume Dupuy in the big blind and sent his cards into the muck. Dupuy checked his cards and called instantly.

Mateusz Moolhuizen: {9-Clubs}{6-Clubs}
Guillaume Dupuy: {A-Hearts}{9-Spades}

"I fold," Moolhuizen joked and found no help on the board {K-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{4-Spades} to bust minutes before the dinner break on Day 1a.

Nordli Rivers the Nuts

Level 6 : 400/800, 100 ante

In a battle of the blinds, Oystein Nordli check-called a bet of 5,500 by Sean Foley on the {J-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} turn and then bet the {7-Diamonds} river for 10,000.

"Can you show me how much you have behind?" Foley asked and Nordli removed his hands to reveal around 10,000 behind. Foley then called and Nordli rolled over {10-Diamonds}{9-Spades} for the nut straight, while Foley mucked his {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds} in disgust.

The same table also features Jack Sinclair, who entered after busting the €2,200 High Roller before the money. Seamus Cahill cashed and invested a portion of that for the entry of Day 1a of the Main Event also, but has been reduced to one third of the starting stack one table over from Sinclair.

The €2,200 High Roller is still in heads-up and Valentin Cristea has taken over a narrow lead. He was all in with {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} against the {10-Spades}{10-Clubs} of Benny Glaser and spiked the {A-Diamonds} on the river.

Heads-Up in the €2,200 High Roller

Level 6 : 400/800, 100 ante
Benny Glaser
Benny Glaser

Michael Mazilu was the first to fall once the money bubble in the €2,200 High Roller burst and Seamus Cahill followed soon after. Paul Jux Holderness had to settle for third place and that left Benny Glaser and Valentin Cristea to battle for the victory.

Glaser started with a big chip lead but that has since been cut down somewhat. On a {7-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{5-Spades}{10-Diamonds} turn, Glaser bet 46,000 at blinds of 2,000/5,000/5,000 and Cristea jammed for 237,000 to force a fold from the Brit.
