Francis Foord-Brown
Francis Foord-Brown

Francis Foord-Brown won't be able to repeat his final table finish of last year here in London after being sent to the rail before the money. After Christopher Yong doubled through him, Foord Brown got his remaining stack in with {A-}{J-} and Nicolaj Bonnichsen, who had four-bet shoved, turned over the {Q-Clubs}{J-Clubs}.

The board came {8-Spades}{5-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{9-Hearts} and the Dane got there on the turn to eliminate Foord-Brown.

Marius Pertea is the last former Unibet Open champion remaining

Yngve Steen raised to 10,000 on the button and Daniel Laming in the big blind three-bet to 42,000. Steen wasted little time before moving all in and Laming counted his remaining stack, then folded with some 90,000 behind.

One hand later, Marius Pertea raised to 11,000 and Laming pushed out of the small blind to pick up an instant call by Pertea.

Daniel Laming: {9-Clubs}{9-Hearts}
Marius Pertea: {K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}

The board of {7-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{2-Hearts}{2-Spades}{10-Diamonds} brought no upset and Laming was eliminated. Dinarte de Sousa hit the rail right after and the field has been whittled down from 88 to 53 in just 90 minutes of Day 2.

Team Unibet Crashes Out

Level 13 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Espen Uhlen Jorstad
Espen Uhlen Jorstad

At the end of the previous level Philip Schoenebaum disappeared and the eSports Star, known under his alias "syrinxx" lost his chips to table neighbor Honglin Jiang. The latter was kind enough to provide the details.

According to Jiang Schoenebaum four-bet small with a suited ace only for Jiang on the button to call with {Q-Spades}{J-Hearts} and flop the nut straight on {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}. The runner runner miracle never happened for the German.

A few minutes into the new level, Espen Uhlen Jorstad raised to 40,000 with 6,000 behind and Gunnar Wedde called from the big blind. The last chips went in after a {7-Clubs}{7-Spades}{2-Clubs} flop and Jorstad showed {Q-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}, Wedde had {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}. The {9-Clubs} turn left Jorstad drawing dead and a blank river was a formality.

Moolhuizen Missing; Cardyn Busts Suuronen

Level 12 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante
Mateusz Moolhuizen
Mateusz Moolhuizen

Mateusz Moolhuizen was also among the early casualties of the day and Monica Vaka confirmed that she had busted the two time Unibet Open Champion in a limped battle of the blinds.

According to Vaka, Moolhuizen limped in and check-called a bet of 3,000 on a {5-}{3-}{2-} flop and 7,000 on the {Q-} turn. The {J-} on the river saw Moolhuizen check-shove for 45,000 into a bet of 11,000 and Vaka called with {Q-}{9-} for top pair. Moolhuizen showed {9-Hearts}{2-Hearts} for bottom pair only.

While Vaka provided the details, another hand was going on and Jari Suuronen check-shoved a {10-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{6-Clubs} flop for some 40,000 with the {J-Hearts}{10-Clubs}. Nicolas Cardyn quickly called with the {K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs} in the big blind and the {8-Diamonds} turn and {6-Spades} river brought no upset.
