Kenney Keeps Crushing

Level 7 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

After Andy Park limped in from the cutoff, Bryn Kenney raised to 11,000 on the button. The action folded back to Park who called to see the flop of {10-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{3-Spades}. Park checked and Kenney continued for 13,000. Park made the call and the {5-Diamonds} peeled off on the turn.

Park checked again and Kenney pushed in a larger bet of 41,000. Park thought for a brief moment and then sent his cards to the muck and the pot to Kenney.

One and Done for Hellmuth

Level 7 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Phil Hellmuth got his last 21,500 chips in the middle and was up against Richard Kirsch in the big blind. Hellmuth held the best hand with {a-Diamonds}{10-Spades} against Kirsch's {q-Hearts}{j-Hearts}.

However, the flop came {q-Spades}{2-Spades}{2-Hearts} and Hellmuth was left drawing to an ace or runner-runner outs. The {10-Clubs} landed on the turn and the {K-Spades} hit the river. Hellmuth was unable to catch up after the flop and looked as though he will not be returning for another bullet in Event #1.

Kempe Sends Hutter Home

Level 7 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Rainer Kempe
Rainer Kempe

Rainer Kempe opened from the cutoff and Barry Hutter shipped all in for around 85,000 on the button. The action folded back to Kempe who quickly made the call and the cards were tabled.

Rainer Kempe: {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}
Barry Hutter: {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}

The {10-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} board ran out clean for Kempe as his kings held up to be the best hand. Hutter was sent to the rail for the second time today, and with just one re-entry remaining, it appears as though he will be choosing to pass on that as he was seen leaving the tournament area completely.

Soverel Wins Monster Pot Prior to the Break

Level 6 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

In the last hand before another 10-minute break, Phil Hellmuth opened to 7,000 from under the gun. Justin Young three-bet to 18,000 from the cutoff and Sam Soverel called from the big blind. Hellmuth used up a time extension before dramatically folding.

The flop came {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} and Soverel checked to Young who continued for 10,000. Soverel check-raised to 27,000 and Young stuck around to see the {6-Hearts} on the turn. Soverel fired another 35,000 and Young called again.

The river landed the {7-Hearts} and Soverel announced a bet of 88,000. Young used up a time extension which sparked a reaction from Hellmuth. "Wow! Two time extensions on level six. And one of them from me."

Young continued to think about his decision and eventually found a call. Soverel tabled {a-Spades}{k-Spades} for top two pair and Young was unable to beat it.

Hutter Jams the River

Level 6 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

David Peters opened to 6,000 from the hijack and Barry Hutter re-raised to 21,000 from the big blind. Peters called and the flop came {q-Spades}{10-Hearts}{9-Clubs}. Both players checked and the {7-Hearts} landed on the turn.

Hutter splashed in a bet of 24,000 and Peters made the call. The {5-Diamonds} on the river didn't change the texture of the board and Hutter moved all in for 46,500. Peters went into the tank, using up one of his time extensions before finally releasing his hand.

Bonomo Continues to Climb

Level 6 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Tom Marchese opened to 6,000 from under the gun and was called by Sean Perry on the button along with Justin Bonomo in the big blind. The flop came {k-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} and Bonomo checked to Marchese who continued for 7,000. Perry folded and Bonomo stuck around to see the {a-Hearts} on the turn.

Bonomo checked again Marchese bet 15,000 on a turn card that would appear to favor his hand. Bonomo wasn't worried though, as he check-raised to 48,000 and Marchese quickly mucked his hand.

Just a couple of minutes later, Marchese and Ryan Riess were both seen missing from their seats with the chips being pushed towards Bonomo.

Phil Hellmuth was seen relaxing and enjoying a coffee earlier on the first break, and it was only a matter of time before he took his seat. He made his way into the tournament area and has found his seat to the right of Lauren Roberts.

Just shortly after on the table next door, Adrain Mateos was seen exiting his seat for the third time today. With only two re-entries allowed, Mateos is done for the day.
