Chidwick's Overpair Holds Up

Level 5 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Stephen Chidwick
Stephen Chidwick

The board read {8-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} and there was already around 27,000 in the pot. Andrew Lichtenberger checked and Stephen Chidwick tossed in a bet of 20,000. Lichtenberger check-raised all in and Chidwick called off his last 104,500 chips.

Stephen Chidwick: {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}
Andrew Lichtenberger: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}

Chidwick was out front with his overpair and would need to dodge an ace, king, or a club to secure the double up. The {7-Hearts} on the river paired the board and Chidwick doubled up, leaving Lichtenberger with around 10,000. He would go on to bust in the next couple of hands.

Hanks Has a Decision to Make

Level 5 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

On a flop of {k-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{5-Hearts}, Andrew Lichtenberger checked from the small blind to Brent Hanks in the cutoff. Hanks bet 6,000 into a pot of around 14,000 and Lichtenberger called.

The {4-Hearts} landed on the turn and Lichtenberger quickly checked. With the clock nearing 30-seconds, Hanks asked if the action was on him, and then quickly checked, citing that he didn't see Lichtenberger check.

The river brought the {a-Diamonds} and Lichtenberger tossed in a bet of 22,500. Hanks used up one of his time extensions before pushing all in. Lichtenberger instantly threw his cards away and Hanks explained himself after the hand.

"I really didn't see you check on the turn. And I really did have a decision to make on the river."

Pollak Rides a Rollercoaster of a Hand

Level 4 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Benjamin Pollak
Benjamin Pollak

Benjamin Pollak raised to 4,000 from the cutoff and Adrian Mateos three-bet to 20,000 out of the big blind. Pollak counted out his remaining chips and then shipped all in for 78,000. Mateos promptly called and the cards were on their backs.

Benjamin Pollak: {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}
Adrian Mateos: {a-Spades}{q-Spades}

Pollak held the dominating hand but the flop fell {q-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{2-Hearts} giving Mateos a pair of queens and the lead in the hand. Pollak held the lone heart, giving him the only flush draw. The {7-Diamonds} on the turn changed nothing but the {j-Hearts} on the river gave Pollak a flush as he earned the double up.

Zinno Sends Roberts to the Registration Desk

Level 4 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Lauren Roberts got the last of her 20,000 chips in the middle from the cutoff and was called by Anthony Zinno on the button. Roberts was in rough shape with {k-Spades}{q-Spades} against Zinno's {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}.

The board ran out {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{9-Spades} and Zinno's ace-high held on to eliminate Roberts.

"Rebuy!" Roberts announced as she took a drink of her water and headed to the registration desk.
