The action has moved into Level 17, the final level of the night. The field currently sits at 174 players remaining, just 12 spots from the money.

At the end of the level, the Day 2 survivors will bag up their chips and return on Tuesday at 1 p.m.

Level: 17

Blinds: 60,000/120,000

Ante: 120,000

Sha's Straight Holds

Level 16 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

On a {3-Spades}{8-Spades}{10-Hearts} flop, Tommy Nguyen checked from the small blind and a player in late position bet 305,000. Shijuadin Daud Sha called on the button and Nguyen called as well.

The {9-Diamonds} fell on the turn and after Sha saw two checks in front of him, he bet 1,050,000. Nguyen called and the player in late position folded.

Both players checked when the {3-Clubs} landed on the river and Nguyen tabled {9-Spades}{2-Spades}, missing a flush draw. Sha turned over {7-Hearts}{6-Hearts}, hitting a gut shot on the turn and took down the pot.

Richard Verdon

According to his son, Richard Verdon is on the freeroll of his life in this tournament all thanks to partypoker!

Verdon is currently 17 players from making the money in this $2,200 NL $2 million guaranteed event and got here by winning a free ticket through the partypoker client. The ticket was valued at $2.20 and turned that into a $22 satellite ticket. He moved through to the $220 Phase One tournament and spun his stack up. He then made it to Day 1 and brought forth 2,053,000 chips into Day 2.

He now sits on 4,600,000 in chips and could very well be guaranteed $2,000 shortly, with a shot at $400,000!

Beauchesne Takes Out Wong

Level 16 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

Denis Beauchesne open-jammed for 1,200,000 from middle position and Tony Wong put himself at risk, calling on the button.

Beauchesne: {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}
Wong: {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}

The board ran out {q-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{3-Clubs} and though Beauchesne made a full house on the river, the river also gave Wong a flush which a few tablemates thought was a big suck-out card for Wong. They were quickly corrected and Wong resumed his motion towards the door.

Robert Taylor Triples Up in a Massive Three-Way All-In

Level 16 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

Robert Taylor moved all-in from under the gun for 1,400,000 and the action was on his neighbor Michael Noor in the next position. He opted to call, and now Zheng-Yi Xie was in middle position with a decision. He moved all-in for the top for 2,600,000 total and action came back around to Noor who had both players covered. It was 1,200,000 more for him to call so he piled his chips in the middle and the cards were on their backs.

Robert Taylor: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}
Zheng-Yi Xie: {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}
Michael Noor: {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}

Taylor was the first player at risk but had the best of it with a pair of aces, with Xie next at risk with two kings. Noor had both players covered and was crushed by both.

The board ran out {7-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{3-Clubs} and Taylor triple and won the main while Xie took the side pot for a small loss.
