After 14 levels of play, Day 1b of the All-Stars for Starlight has come to an end. A total of 231 entries took a seat in the charity event of the World Cup of Cards at Playground Poker Club. There were 49 players remaining when the last hand of the night played out.

Leading the way on Day 1b was Sammy Chao. Chao ended play with 381,500, almost double his closest competitor. Chao hovered around the top of the leaderboard for most of the day but got a huge boost when he made a straight flush to bust another big stack at his table.

Other big stacks in the room were Tommy Coulombe (198,500), Colin Scheckman (191,500), Patrick M (188,500), Noy U (180,000), and the reigning All-Stars for Starlight champion John Palmer (178,500).

Some notables also moving on to Day 2 include WSOP bracelet winner Michael Malm, Charles La Boissonniere, Joey Boczek, Jason Conforti, and Kyle Janisse.

A few players not so lucky today were Kathy Sawers, Keren Kats, Rodney Ramalho, Grant Ellis, and Sebastien Proulx. As a next-day re-entry event though, everyone will have another shot to qualify for Day 2 on Saturday when another two Day 1 starting flights take place.

The second flight of the no-limit hold'em Event #6: $160 All-Stars for Starlight crushed the morning Day 1a flight which gathered 136 players . In total there have been 367 entries received meaning $9,175 has been raised for the Starlight Children’s Foundation Canada.
